1. Agree with comments above. Lots of white pickguards in the late 60's had pearloid backs, as they had a huge surplus of the sheet material. Most Telecaster bass's have pearloid back white guards, or did before they perished. Surplus was probably because they realised it looked awful, and didn't widen the use across the range.
 2. Loving this Luke, fantastic work, you must be chuffed so far!

Better than any others I’ve seen, and certainly more accurate. Pricing is not easy, as the parts alone add up to quite a bit, let alone the time spent in ageing it all. I know the price of Limelights, but this certainly isn’t one of those. I also know the price of Bravewoods, and it isn’t one of those either (they are excellent, although the replica he made many years ago didn’t have a maple-cap neck), so I figure a price in the middle of those two would be sensible, so that’s what I’ve done. Any comments on price, or sensible offers, drop me a PM. If it doesn’t sell, it’ll go in the loft for resurrection in another few years. PX wise?, not really looking for anything, and need space, but a first series export ’57 JV P would be a possible exception. Can take more pics if necessary, just ask. Get that 'Live at Leeds' look and feel, without the £25k price tag in fact for the price of a MIM!!

 6.
Interest in a 1960s East German ply bass in awesome condition,no breaks ever, Ebony fingerboard & cash my way?
Not sure what that is, but looking for a sale. Thanks for the interest.
 7. Thanks for the reply. That's exactly what I've now done. I now need to decide if I sell as it is, or spend a bit to restore, and then sell for much more?
 8.
These sound great and that's at a great price rick!
Hi Luke, long time no here, hope you and yours are well? Thanks, it's a great amp, very cool, and less than half the price of a '59 reissue. I thought it was priced to sell, but clearly not!
 9.
(unless, of course, you would be interested in a trade for the GK - 3 tube pre - with small cash adjustment your way)
No trades thanks. Not for other amps anyway. Thanks for interest though.
 10.
Where exactly are you located?
Interested?
