Played through an Ampeg 8x10 last night...
Geddys nose replied to julesb's topic in General Discussion
I picked a Ashdown Mag 8x10 up for £60 recently, Knocks my BF Big Twin into a cocked hat IMO for tone and spread but weighs 65 Kg. Always had Ampeg Fridges and only sold them due to the weight. I'm looking for a Lightweight version and will probably sell the BF. -

Found myself looking at Rics again when they blatantly don't work for me (Owned about 6 now and all sold on) Does anyone else have this problem with Basses,Amps,Gear ect . Do you buy again and think why did I buy this? or do you just move on?

Did my first gig last night… on drums!
Geddys nose replied to NoirBass's topic in General Discussion
Well done, Isn't it nice not having to worry about harmony! I play both but have never gigged drums (yet) but it's a aim in the future. -

I've reset my computer and found out Zoom have removed the Handyshare App because of a Major Security risk in Quicktime. I run a separate machine for video editing so not bothered about the risk, Could someone send me a zip version of it? I'd be very appreciative.
I bought it - I may be daft but I love vintage UK gear and have not seen a RB shaped JB 8 string before. I like the idea of rescuing an old bass so I took the gamble. Fortunately there are no cracks or structural damage. The frets need cleaning of course but the trussrod looks ok and the short scale neck is pretty straight too. I can get it refinished and get John Carling of John Birch to look at the electrics. That's the plan anyway
If I had to put money on someone buying this it would be you Ash Great price for when you get it going as I know you will.

It takes a couple of months for me to take the coating off any strings and that includes Elixirs, playing about 60% pick to fingers. Currently using Dragon Skin DR's instead of my usual Elixirs and Black Beauties. Didn't like Roto Nexus strings for some reason. IMO coatings do work incredible well to keep the zing.

Superb Roland drums with added VH11 Hi-hats,Iron cobra Bass pedal and quality Mapex drum stool and 2 pairs of Vic Firths, I have the dongle too to connect to the online Roland website for all the play along apps. All in great condition and working perfectly. I'm in Chorley,Lancs and its pretty much collection only due to the size. Trade wise I'd be interested in 4 string offers especially of the graphite verity.
Back to Le Studio, I recall seeing video of one of Rush walking around the place as it is now, all the while flashbacks to whatever video it was they shot there. Sorry about being vague...
It was NP walking around LeStudio (Its under the video link), They filmed a bit there but the one I remember most was Limelight with The dog at the beginning. The link I saw it on was Rickenbacker FB page.
