1. My first proper bass too, Same colour but gold hardware, Quite expensive when they came out £410 in 1989 As I remember. Great necks and decent P/U's too.
2. Lovely looking cabs and Recessed Badges, Its little things like that that show you someone has spent a little time doing it right. I will put them on my GAS list.
3. . I'd be half tempted myself but its a long drive over the A66.
4. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Precision-/261620115625?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3ce9c628a9 Pick up in Sunderland only. Always good seeing basses in the wrong category.
5. Thanks for the Comments she is a beauty, I'm all 4 Stringed up since my last buy but thanks anyway.
6.
God, I dunno... I seem to remember some connection between The Who and Zep... ...no doubt someone who knows will be along shortly...
Page was the session guitarist on "I can't Explain" there was a session drummer but Moon threw his drum kit in the street! Allegedly..
7. I always thought someone like Bill Sheehan would be a better choice and someone like Dave Grohl on drums just for his power and aggression, I think Townsend likes his new lead role too much to step back like he did with Moon and JE though.
8. Stunning. That is lovely.
9. I'm Comfused.com. Your second picture is a 400+ not a 400 you can see the pairs of 6l6's.
10. Special week end rate of £450 .
11. Wish Terry Brown was still producing them especially the recent stuff, They sound mushy and bloated now.
12. Nice bit of Monday night viewing on Sky Arts 1 at 10pm.
13. They use neo speakers on these so they weigh much less than a Ampeg fridge (not including the case) I had one for a while and it was very easy to move around until you hit stairs. Sounded great too whatever I ran through it. GLWYS!
14. Thanks! I think of it as a hotrodded P but with a Fender twist on a Stingray. Funny enough I normally keep clear of anything with F on the headstock but after 31 years playing you end up owning most stuff and this is such a nice player compared to any make I've owned really silky with the flats on.
15. I'm on my forth one now which says something (stupid for selling or stupid for buying again!) I really love these and can't afford the new Mesa heads, They seem to be getting cheaper since the new Mesa Valve heads came out too. I never use the Graphic EQ really preferring to just use the tone controls on the amp which do take some getting use to and to be honest you would be best ignoring the numerals on the pots because they mean very little if you want to set it flat. Look after the valves and you will never have any problems IMO, I always revalve with JJ's as soon as I buy a new one. Combine a 400+ with a 1516 and it's tone heaven but I use to use it through a Ampeg fridge too.
16. Now £500 for a stunning looking bass.
17. Thanks guys she is a looker and will be a very sad sale, Only selling because I do not need the mirrored scratch plate to style my hair at Half time! Could get a buffing pad scratch plate for my lack of hair....
18. Bought Nik's Schroeder cab off him, Really great friendly service from start to finish and his packing is nuclear proof ! Thanks again Si
19. Thanks, Its funny that 2 of my heroes went to the Vigier Excess in the '90's saying that they are a great bass very underrated compared to other brands.
