1.
A compact which is actually ...... compact. However, call me a philistine and technically out of touch, but I lament the passing of the 15" speaker.
That's kind'a how I'm feeling :/
2. I have both and it's a tough call. I'd probably vote for the Babicz, it's just a cracking bit of engineering lovelyness.
3. Just met Owen to finish a smooth Basschat deal. Thoroughly nice chap to deal with great communication. One of the good guys on here. All the best.
4.
If I'm using pro gear and its been used for a few years it's already paid for itself imo, i wouldn't worry to much about future value of possible used prices as long as it's what you want at a price you are happy with.
+1
5. Both cabs on hold again. Bloody hell that was quick.
6. Another chance to post mine from Rothko (again) But do take your time as mentioned.
7. Hi all Thanks for the interest, they are sold pending at the moment. If anything happens I will post. Cheers
8. Hi, I am in Swindon Wiltshire.
9. Hi. Both cabs have 2 speakons
10. 2 I think. But let me check after work.
11. Hi all Well, my Dubster is getting all the gigs at the moment so am going to move these on. They are in mint condition and come with Roqsolid covers. The Midget has had the badge moved so it reads correct when stacked with the Compact. Am looking for £750 for the stack, I could split if I can find a buyer for both. I do not have the original boxes, but am happy to meet/deliver at a reasonable distance. I will get pictures up soon, but by now i think everyone knows what they look like. Cheers

Just sold a pedal to Simon. A great chap to deal with. Good communication throughout, and payment was exactly when expected. Totally recommended. One of the good guys. Cheers
13.
He has a no compromise approach to the quality of joints and finishing. Nothing leaves his place unless its perfect.
+1 to that.
14. Don't have that problem with my Dubster but the rubber mats mentioned worked a treat on my Bergs.
15.
The Stingray has been my least favourite sounding of all the basses that I've owned, especially in the band mix - just not my bag. It's a shame, because it looked cool, played beautifully and was very well built.
Exactly how i felt. I had the HH, looked fantastic, sounded great at home. Took it to rehearsal, 4hrs of constant fiddling with the EQ and I could not get a tone that 'worked' with the band. The drummer at the end said "it don't sound as good as your other one". The other being my P Bass.
16. Cheers all. The tuners are the standard schaller bml's. Best I had better get me some amp GAS now then. But TBH my little terror bass seems to be ticking all the boxes at the mo.
17. Well I eventually got round to ordering one (thanks to Dood) and have had it a few weeks with 2 gigs under it's belt and I could not be happier. It's a standard JJ but with black hardware, D-tuner, Babicz bridge and an East P Retro (which to be honest, it does not need, but adds more to what is already there). It can be very aggressive but also very responsive depending on how it is played. I can actually hear notes on the D and G strings so much more clearly now. Perfect neck for me, have got Roto heavys on it, have been using flats for a few years but am enjoying the snarl too much at the mo Jon was great throughout, it took roughly 7 months to get here which I dont think is too bad. I love it, I've got my dream bass
18. So which one is best for metal?
19.
Hard for me to comment without bias as I've known Mark since BassDirect was running from an old lockup on a farm, but he's always been very attentive and patient with me. His business has grown exponentially since then and he may not always have the time to provide a personal service everytime . I've spent about £1500 in 5 years but only in a couple of transactions, but I know when I do want to spend big I'll be going to him.
Same here, I have never had anything but great service from Mark, it's a hour and a half trip for me to get there, If im the only one there I get his full attention, if others are there I'm more than happy to wait. I have noticed if you ask a question you don't usually get the one liner you do in other music shops, you get a full conversation from someone who is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It's quite refreshing.
20. Yup, got mine today, very impressed so far
21. Just ordered one. Cheers.
22.
I know these new cabs are very efficient and loud but, can a 2x15 or 2x12 match a good 412 in power/volume/presence? This is my main concern, I don't want to spend big money and then fin d out they can't.
Having owned a both a Berg 610 and 412, my lightweight 2x15 outperforms them easy in every way, thats to my ears and needs though. Now the Bergs are sealed and my 2x15 is ported, It could mean that sealed cabs are just not my bag. It's tricky but it's something you will not know until you try one out, and it needs to be at war volume.
23. Yes, I will have one.
