1. Hi all Up for sale is my Squier CV. Its in mint condition, strung with Rotosound 66's (or Chromes if prefered). Fitted with a black scratchplate, but I will include the original tort one. Comes in the standard Fender gig bag. £200 Quite happy to meet within 50 miles of Swindon or will post if I can find a suitable box and work out a price. Here are the pics. Cheers Raggy
 2.
Obviously a lack of tweeter may change everything.
This ^ IMHO.
 3.
I agree on the Gk front. If you want a more clangy agressive tone
Having actually used a GK head with an NV610 and 412 for a few years, clangy does not spring to mind. Its a very good combination with a good punchy kick.
 4. Tickets booked for Saturday.

 6. Well done Michael, looking forward to hearing about it.

 9.
I missed all of this. So, did Gareth receive yet another unsatisfactory bass?
So the legend goes!
 10.
Smokin' ...
Hot curry?
 11. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Nomad.html I saw this the other day. Have not used it but might try some. But as Telebass says above a micrfibre cloth is a peachy thing to use.
 12. Good going.
 13. Nice work They really seem to give great aftersales service.
 14. Contact Agedhorse over on Talkbass, he will point you in the right direction.
 15. I spoke to him on the phone Thursday morning, he did say he was extremely busy so we only had a quick chat but my new Thumper based pickup was delivered in to me on Friday, this was not a stock model either, it was a custom wind. As far as I'm concerned, that's bloody good service.
 16.
East P-Retro?
+1. Would not be without mine now.
 17.
Actually that's interesting - just had a look at the Mono and iGig sites and while the single Mono bag is much lighter than the equivalent iGig bag the dual ones weigh almost the same amount - not at all what I expected. After my experience with the Mono bag which IMO is great for protecting your instrument but not a lot of fun to carry on your back for any serious length of time, I will never buy another gig bag without trying it out first. Also while lots of storage space in the bag is a good idea in principle, in practice it's going to make what is already a heavy bag plus 2 basses even heavier. It would have to be fantastically comfortable to wear and I'd want to try it full of all the stuff I intended to put in it before parting with any money.
If we we're closer I'd let you borrow mine to see what your thoughts are as I am not gigging at the mo. I've been looking at the Monos for my spare.
 18.
But all the other semi-rigid cases are considerably heavier than the Mono ones. An important factor IMO for a case design to be carried for any distance.
The iGig is not considerably heavier and I find it very comfortable to wear on my back IMO.
 19.
Got my (used) Compact last Friday - very pleased indeed. Decided to amend my BF order to a Midget on the grounds of maximum flexibility, and the extreme unlikelihood of me ever needing to fire up 2 Compacts at once!
Your not going to regret that at all
 20.
Anybody in the Swindon area with a Compact and Midget? I have a Compact on order, but have just done a deal to buy one from a BC member. I need to decide whether to stick with 2 Compacts, or change my order to a Midget, so would appreciate the opportunity to compare. For Midget: even more portable than Compact, 3 rigs from 2 cabs (Midget; Compact: Midget + Compact) For 2nd Compact: possibly bigger sound, not a big fan of aggressive mids (but do like the mid frequencies that flatter a fretless) So - anyone local to Swindon with this rig?
That'll be me
 21. Just bought some Silver Slap double bass strings from Clarky. Being a doghouse bass newbie he even made the generous offer for me to try before buying. A first class chap to deal with with great communication throughout. All the best mate Steve
 22.
Me thinks this might go down quite well over here...
Am sure it will. Look how popular Barefaced is. Its for a reason A properly engineered bass cab, good weight and decent components.
