I keep well away from Ernie Ball flats now, have tried them a few times, not really impressed at all. Have had an A string break and the silk wrapping come away from the core on the G, on two sets of strings, rendering the string useless. La Bella 760FM's all the way for me.

Really good bass tone that. Pretty sure he used an old fender bassman to record that tone.

Very sorry to hear your unfortunate story Clarky, nobody should have to put up with Axl Rose anymore!! Seriously tho, I hope your hand heals quicker than a quick thing.

I am thinking of going back to gk amps. The 1001rb has tonnes of headroom, very powerful easy to use eq with plenty of low end, and I like my lows. It produced some superb growl as well. Not really sure why I sold it now!! They are supposed to have a signature sound which some describe as bright. I am not a fan of zingy toppy sounds and I didn't feel it was bright. Recently tried out a fusion 550 and that was ace. Very warm sounding.

So it looks like Bass Guitar Parts Direct has gone out of business, perhaps. I tried to go on their site a few weeks ago and could not find it. They have been mentioned on here a few times.
