3.
As I'm not fond of the scratchplate on the normal SR5, I think these are an improvement.
Agree with that, these look much better
4. Likin that.
5.
Well I'm depressed. The singer who started this chain of thought has to go and work in London for a year so it's all on hold Pooooooooo
Sorry to hear that matey
6.
They should have met each other before the gig.
Hopefully after that they'll all agree never to meet again.
7. +1 to all the above, mine is ace and well worth it IMHO
8. See this thread here http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=72821
9. Awesome
10.
No, for a couple of reasons, the finish is gorgeous, the attention to detail (those B's on the sides really really look cool) and the tinyness. At the end of the day though, who cares, they are the best looking cabs as well as the best sounding that you can get IMO. I'd be chuffed to have any of them behind me at a gig!!
I think it was the finish and size that put me off of them really. 2 as a stack would be nice to see tho Agree with you there, the Bergs do have that certain presence at a gig!
11. Those crazy Danes
12.
I've seen the NV series next to the AE series and for me the AE has it on looks as well.
Really?????? AE series looks just like any another make of cab to me
13. Just to throw another 15 into the mix then. I bought 2 of the new Trace 15" compacts last year to use as an easy in and out of venues rig (due to my Berg NV being the big rig) and I was quite blown away by them. I have used them with my P Bass through either a GK1001, LM111, LH500 and ShuttleMax 6. Together they produce an impressive amount of low end with a nice 'burp' when I really dig in, and to be honest, the boys in the band prefer them to the Berg NV for some reason!! (610 and later a 412). I have recently considered chopping them in for a Berg EX12ER x2 rig but am not totally convinced the 12's will give me that ...... ermmmm.... 'big bottom' I get with these Trace compacts. If you were closer or are ever my way your more than welcome to try one out.
14.
Done
Lol
15. Heard the same thing earlier, I can stop shaking now
16. C'mon Stephen, what have you getting to pair with your Vintage?????
17. I went for the iGig in the end after looking at both of them at Bass Direct. You can fit a lot of things in it (actually too much) and I am happy that my bass is well protected when inside. A decent hard case will offer more protection but I am really glad I picked one up and now only use this.
18.
I always find it amusing when people put pieces of gear in completely different tonal camps. It goes to show how difficult it is to try and explain sound purely using words, and how subjective our own perception of sound is anyway!
Very true
19. There is nothing hi-fi about my Genz ShuttleMax6, lovely warm growl with my P Bass. Get 10 bass players playing through one amp and I think you will get 10 different sounds.
20. That Jazz is lush
21. Maybe too much Ska/Two Tone but we have great sucess with: 54-46 - Toots and the maytals Lorraine - Bad Manners Special Brew - Bad Manners Walking in the Sunshine - Bad Manners Simmer Down - Bob Marley/Skatalites Rudi/Too much too young/Little Bitch (actually anything by The Specials) One Step/Night Boat/Bed and Breakfast Man (actually anything by Madness) Pressure Drop - The Clash/The Specials Too Much Pressure - The Selecter
22. Condition?
23.
Yoda has spoken
Haha Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.
24.
Heres mine. Amp is a B200r, Bass is Squier Vintage modified P-bass TB with Jazz Flats and lowered pick up(pole pieces too) and Bass Muff. Sounds pretty decent and after having many different set ups over the years this one pretty much is where I'll stay for a while. May only be a humble Squier but I really enjoy playing it and surprising people with my sound from this rig.
What a gorgeous set up. That just smacks Old Skool. Have really got GAS for one of those Squiers.
25. Interested. Can I ask what you didn't like about them.
