Perhaps I am alone in being able to like an artists work, but not want to "prop up a bar" with them! Another two that come to mind are 'Flea' and 'Tony Franklin'. Not my cup of tea I'm afraid. I like Adele, but I think the Skyfall theme is awful! I am sorry if I have offended any fan clubs, I am not "trolling" or "spinning" or whatever else. Its just my opinion! I will gladly post a list of things that I like to allow those aggrieved souls to "get there own back"!

There is a little phrase where I need to actually pluck the string and move quickly to the next. Barring means the first string will ring and it doesnt sound right. Three strings on one fret. Does this makes sense?

Should you just bridge the strings with one finger. I have big hands and fingers, should it be a struggle

Even though this could not be further from my usual musical taste I love the way this song is crafted. It is full of sexual inuendo and images but so tasteful. It seems to me that you can buy 3 different scatchplates from 3 different suppliers and they will be slightly different sizes!

Are these old amps worth getting repaired. Is it financially viable. I like the old thing, but its only a practice amp. My only experience is of HiFi type electronic repairs which can get expensive quickly, are there still experts in valve technology! I do feel lik'e betamax man'!

My old valve amp is suffering from fading sound after about 10-15 mins, Does this sound terminal? Thanks

But when I got my first bass it felt like it did when I first picked one up at 15! I returned home to an empty house and was almost jumping up and down with excitement. I agree with all the comments made and you have fortunately found an excellent and friendly forum with genuine advice from guys that have learned from experience. I would agree that back in the day was easier to buy quality instruments. Nowadays it seems to be awash with cheaply made stuff. But and there is a big but. You now have the internet to help you research parts and modifications to make a silk purse out of a sows ear. I decided to "make" a jazz to get into the swing. By the time I had sourced the parts I should have just gone out and bought a squier! I have an RBX that I have defretted and this is now my leaning. I am looking at upgrading to a quality fretless, just watching whats for sale so if you see something be quick or I will buy it first! Good luck mate, welcome back its the best thing you've done!

On a slightly different tack, I've got hands like a gorilla and fingers like pork sausages but I dont think I can move stretch as well as I could when I was 16! Interestingly, didnt the victorians used to have "stretching tools " for piano students. I think I remember seeing one of these instruments of torture on the antiques roadshow

It may be something totally unconnected but I noticed in the sellers 'buying history' that he bought a six string bass bridge just before you bought this. Perhaps the two things are connected

If you bought the guitar with a "declared fault" thats one thing, but if he sold you a "faulty guitar" then you really should be attempting to get your money back, regardless of how nice he's being. Ebay are pretty good, how long have you had it?
