  1. As previous, TCE Hall of Fame. Not the cheapest but that to me is out weighed by its versatility.
  2. Thanks for the suggestion but I'd rather see someone in person. Mind you I may not have any option...???
  3. We've just purchased 2 x RCF 712's and combined with 1 Mackie 1501, we are covered and gave a great sound. Previously thought we've tried Mackies, JBL and EV albeit their lower budget tops but by far, we believe that the RCF's blow them away. Had a very good deal on them too. By purchasing the official bags, the front and rear panels zip away and hold against each other during use so the main body is and always has been protected. The Mackie sub, great for what we use it for but it does weigh a lot...
  4. Absolutely fantastic cabs. The only cabs I've used that really cut through and sound good. Have a bump....
  5. As the above mentioned, it'll look great and no doubt prolong the life of your cab BUT pair that up with the weight issue and after the first gig no doubt you'll regret it. A decent padded cover should do you. Roqsolid covers used to have the option of a sleeve being made for the front so that you could add a piece of plywood etc to help protect it.
  6. Someone's already mentioned it but what are they like when people's phones go off in the audience, hearing aids, sound limiters etc? I'm seriously looking to go the wireless route...
  7. I've just recently purchased a Status 'The Groove' 5 string. I got it to go to and fro to rehearsals and for the occasional pub gig. The neck is superb on it, even to the extent that for the exception of a band photo shoot, my Sadowsky's haven't even been taken out the case! I'm so impressed with it that I'm thinking of ordering a Status soon...

Recently purchased a MXR Compressor from Steve. From start to finish, the transaction was superb. I was in a little hurry to get the pedal so that is could be used for a recording session and Steve was more than accommodating in ensuring I got it in time. The pedal itself was brand spanking new! Exactly as described.....
  9. Steve very kindly held these cabs for me but due to unforeseen circumstances I've had to pull out of the sale. His communication has been excellent throught and having traded faultlessly with him recently, I can't recommend him enough.... Whoever buys these will be very very eased I'm sure...
  10. I had one of these a while back and loved it! Have an early bump on me....
  11. I've got a Protec Contego which is still serving me very well. A tip i picked up hear on Basschat recently was to put cable ties between the strap connectors and the actual body of the bag in case one of them breaks. At least then the cable tie will take the strain long enough for you to realize that one has broken. In fact, I ended up attaching them to my bass straps too just in case....
  12. Whoever managed to get their paws on the P Bass, how far do you reckon they managed to get home in one piece?
  13. I've had the cheaper £7 stands usually found in the wire baskets by the counters of music shop. They serve a purpose until your beloved bass takes a swan dive. As a result I purchased a couple of Hercules single stands years ago, and to this date I still find them very sturdy and reliable. It's extremely reassuring to hear of the customer service should I ever have an issue with them though....
  14. If it's good it'll last, and there seems to be a lot of interest around the 60's stuff for weddings at the minute (age group 25-35 years)...
  15. You've possibly joined the ranks of what is the most addictive 'pleasures' out there.... Good luck
