Hi, just had the dreaded email from our keyboard player saying that he needs out ASAP. It's all very unfortunate for him and completely understandable as to why he needs to leave quickly, so we need a replacement ASAP...
We are an established 5 piece wedding / function band with female lead vocals. We are all aged 30+, and as a band we have been together for around 3 years now. We play the usual and also the not so usual wedding / function type material. All covers ranging from Elvis to Pharrell Williams. Completely fully self contained with ful professional PA and lighting rig.
We rehearse within the Stourbridge area as this is central to all of us as we are based all over the place (Bedfordshire, Shrewsbury, Sedgley) Rehearsals are generally once every 10-14 days apart.
We are after a committed individual who is professionally minded for this type of environment, good gear, own transport, backing vocals and reliable etc...
Our website is: www.themostunusualsuspects.co.uk and there are some recent demos on Youtube under our name.
If your interested or know of someone who may be, then please PM me your / their contact details... We have gigs waiting... -

... That was a blanket 'Musical Instrument' clause too...

Don't - arrange to meet somewhere halfway!!!
I sent a bass earlier in the year through Citylink. Had an on -line chat with one of their representatives over insurance costs to which I decided to go with them. The bass was packaged very well inside a hard case and then packed again into a guitar cardboard carton.
It arrived damaged. The end strap pin had pierced the case causing that to break and there was some form of fracture split to the lacquer on the guitar itself. I'm fully insured though right? NO!!!
When it came to making the claim, hidden in the small print was the clause that the maximum payout for damage in transit would be £100 irrespective as to how much insurance was taken out in the first place.
Was I misinformed? Yes. If I'd have known the above then I wouldn't have sent it...
Be warned and check the maximum amount you can claim for. -
I'm in a five piece and everyone has a different coloured lead going into the PA. It makes it easier to connect and identify a problem. Bit OCD though....

Weddings and functions for us are generally 2 x 60min sets or 3 x 40 mins. Pubs, usually about 90 mins as dictated by the landlords.
