Guys.....I feel your pain....I first saw a Wal in about '86 and touched one in '97 (I would say played.....but some of you may have heard me....lol). It's taken me until 3 weeks ago to actually own one .....thats 26 years of GAS! I hope you dont have to wait that long. Sorry I cant help with the try out....its a righty and I'm about 500 miles away from you!

Stay the hell away from Yodel. That is all.

Yodel....Eh! Eeeeh.....who?
Sorry...coat got ....walking away head down....
I've used Thistle Couriers / APS for a few basses. They will insure musical instruments at an extra cost. The last bass I shipped was from High Wycombe to Aberdeen, overnight, before 12 delivery and it was £27 plus £10 per £1000 of insurance.
Evening,
I'm happy to start a feedback link for bobe01. I bought a Nordstrand pre-amp from him http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1778718 Good comms and delivery. Great to deal with. Thanks....and happy trading
Mike
Just bought "Born To Sing" training CD's from Paganskins.......me, my family and friends as well as all the gig goers REALLY REALLY hope they work.....lol
Seriously though, great deal, great comms - many thanks. 'Twas a pleasure doing business.
I couldnt tell from the website but are these made in Marmaris, Turkey? If so I might check them out on my hols ......."Yes dear....just going for a little walk into town.....you stay by the pool.....back soon......lol"
I've recently bought a Wood & Tronics Chronos which I'm really happy with. However the techie / geek / engineer in me wants to know what the pre-amp is installed in it. Its got a switch and an adjustment pot - what do they do?
I've been in touch with the good people at W&T and they basically said "No idea, looks like a retrofit". Tried a couple of previous owners (thanks guys) but they dont know either.
Heres a piccy of the unit which is stuck in place and covered in a plastic shrink wrap type material. If you know what it is and can let me know you can award yourself a gold medal for services to bass geekery Thanks.

The slug tape probably won't have conductive adhesive, so you'll need to solder across all the joins, but apart from that it's cheap and good (and normally even cheaper on eBay).

Never thought about the adhesive needing to be conductive. Guess I was lucky. It made a mahoosive difference to my jazz as it liked to hum along very loudly to any tune I played ....now its silent.

b500k pot and some copper cavity lining tape/material.

b500k pot - RS Components?
copper cavity lining tape/material - "slug tape" from B&Q or other garden centres - yes really!
