1. Here's a link to an album of pics. I have the bass here so if you want a closer look at any off it (I'm not pulling it apart at work) let me know. https://goo.gl/photos/Mnax26UxTFFcyKv27

3. Ahh that's 'No 1', she's my baby and will never be sold :-)
4. nothing wrong with it as far as I can see. Hangs well, plays great, superb neck and sound.
5. Picked one of these up on Saturday.....damn fine bass. Any question ask away.
6. I've had Classic 450 (till it went pop), then went to a BH250 which was great. Then bought the daddy BH800....bloody hell it's loud. Have that going through an RS210 and RS212, and it's a real 'set it and forget it'. Great tone, good controls and not so many options that lead you down the rabbit hole of fiddling. Now take the 250 as a back-up, just in case. Can't recommend the BH800 enough.
7. It looks like one of Steves to me, often found around the Jams of Ipswich, so you may possibly be right Pete.
8. Great little amp, used one of these before I got my BH800, then kept it for back up. GLWTS
9. I stand corrected, in that case god knows whats wrong with this one then
10. No, the D stamp is at the base of the neck where it joins the body.
11. OK, took delivery of my jazz on Friday.....nowt wrong with it at all. Slight Chip out of the finish on the back, next to the neck plate, apart from that nothing. Plugged her into my head on headphones and had a play, very nice indeed...will be taking her out for a play in anger next week I think.
12. Just nabbed the JB75, for £37 it's a steal...if it works!! May clean it up and sell it on ebay for a couple of hundred ;-)
13. and another one...
14. Uptown shuffle with a Jazz turnaround? Anyone, anyone, Bueller, Bueller A handy little article, but it can be a whole new language
15.
We've had guys set up and just start playing. They don't tell you the song or the key. If they do that I just stand there and look at them until they stop and tell me what we are playing!
Wish I had a £ for every time I've done that
16. Been running a blues jam for around 5 years now (as well as housing at other jams). Basically You provide the backline and depending on the etiquette of the jam a cheap, cheap bass for anyone who turns up to use (I take a £100 special with me, no one touches the others). The house band start the night with a few numbers to warm the room up, and then I put 'bands' together from whoever has put their name down on the list. Some nights can be manic and some very quiet. The drummer and I have been known to play three hours without a break on some nights. If a punter starts getting over loud...turn them down...if they complain turf them off. Keep good eye contact with the drummer, there is no one better to shorten a 15 minute slow blues. 3 questions you really need for anyone getting up: Straight 12 Slow 12 shuffle then go 1, 4, 5.....if it's anything different the leader of the 'band' should tell you (although I've played with some leaders who think I'm psychic), or just ask for the basic changes. It can be great fun, and a# good way to learn and build your repertoire, and don't worry if it all goes to sh*t...it's a jam.
17. it is a thing of beauty
18. Totally agree, but everyone's moral compass has slightly different settings.
19. There is nothing illegal about it, maybe morally wrong, but not illegal. He has bought goods for x and is selling them on for y, pretty much what capitalism is built on. For example I have bought this apple for 10p from the farmer, I have given it a good polish, put a sticker on it and popped it in a bag...it is now a bit like an apple you can buy from tesco...that will be £1 ta muchly....nothing illegal, but it would make me a bit of a bastard
20. Which pretty much makes it a random Fender copy
21. That may have been Axe Musics own brand basses, they were based in Colchester for years. I think they also did mail order.
22. +1 for this :http://www.herculesstands.co.uk/p/auto-grab-guitar-stand-with-foldable-yoke?pp=24 Use with all my basses, including Jazz
23. Having played in cover bands for many years, I've never felt the need to change my 'tone' for every song. Yes if I was playing a song that had an identifiable bass line (wherever I lay my hat comes to mind) the I would spend some time working on the sound with effects, but for general playing no. I found over the years that I can change the 'sound' enough though my playing technique to get 'close' enough to the original tone of the tune. It's all in the fingers.
24. I have the BH800 going through a RS210 & RS212.....monster sound. Great low end, but nice and zingy when I need it.
