I once tried out our a similar era Jazz sound in the usual Jazz pickup configuration. Was a turquoise colour with matching headstock and had been modded with some active pickups. Still one of the many that got away.

That Tokai is dreamy.
3. Cool, thanks. I kinda like the design!
4. It’s a lefty precision - natural finish with white guard and maple neck. What year/ make is it? Never seen a decal like this before https://goo.gl/images/5owmeV
5. "Body cavity opened up to house previous oversized volume pot" Wouldn't you just get a smaller pot?!
6. Can confirm these are awesome for bass or guitar.
7. Selling the AOR?

Mild fuzz advice.

+1 on the MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe
9. I have a black one and agree that this is the best finish. Nice price too. People need to play these more - once you get your hands on one nothing else feels quite the same...
10. ^sounds like Jaco, get a jazz?
11. Would love one, but they're ridiculously overpriced these days because there weren't that many of them made in the first place. At £4-5k you can have just about any other bass from any other era you like. I always think of this quote from Bob Weston when I'm gassing for an aluminium neck: "Also, at the shellac/dianogah show last month I tried Jay's rickenbacker bass plugged into my shellac amp. It sounded identical to the travis bean. So, I reckon that "my" "sound" is more like 80% traynor ts-50b, 10% speaker cabinet, and 10% new strings."
12. Stunner. Would love to put my '65 mosrite through this.
13. Really great basses but £230 is a bit steep - I picked up a Thunder 1A for under £100.
14. Seen the name come up a few times - does anyone know the history and info about them?
15. I really like the functionality of my ODB3, especially the blend feature. But the tone is not amazing - anything similar out there with a blend and a better tone?
16.
Seller has a few other nice items...
Yep I picked up a 80s GK 800RB for a decent price.

4x15

I've seen a picture of a matamp one - absolutely enormous.
18. I've been on the hunt for an early 80s (chrome input) GK800RB for years and years - finally nabbed one up. Can't wait to get my hands on it. Only downside is that it's US so I'll have to use a transformer. I was surprised at how hard these are to find in the UK, though maybe I read something about the materials used in them not being kosher with EU regulations. Might have been dreaming. Any experiences with these early models?

20.
Nope - you need vast quantities of those glowy things for that........... (please see my avatar)
Yeah I've been down that road.... and might be headed there again.
21. Anyone know how these hold up?
22.
Also bear in mind that stereo effects or active panning in the bass end of the spectrum can make your recordings impossible to cut to vinyl, were you to want to release your music in this format.
How come?
23. But will I get heft?
24. ... probably seemed like a good idea at the time https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122224894958
