1. The Hiwatt destroys the rest IMO - would like to hear Hiwatt vs Matamp
2. Thanks everyone, I'm pretty sold on adding another one... My ampeg HLF 410 will remain firmly in the studio I think.
3.
A Compact is good but it's still only 1 speaker trying to do everything.
This is exactly how I feel.
4. Noted. Next time it goes up to 11.
5. It's a whole new rig for me (though the BF is well used), maybe it was just the punch from amp/instrument that I was hearing when I drove it quite hard. It tended to get a bit flappy when I really pushed it, but come to think of it that could just be the sound of the rickenbacker... To my ears, it sounded like the cab wasn't 'keeping up' with the amp when I pushed it hard. Which I guess is to say that I prefered the sound and responsiveness of it on medium volumes, compared to at higher levels.
6. How much more volume do you think I would get? From the range of 'not much' to 'a veritable shedload'?
7. Maybe this is unclear, not really wanting to know compact vs midget, but wanting to know the benefits of adding a 2nd BF cabinet. THANKS.
8. Looking for some opinions from folk who have doubled up on barefaced compact, is it worth doubling up or adding a midget? How much more bang do you get when adding a second one? I played a decent sized room (first show with BFC) on the weekend and loved the sound on stage but found that I couldn't quite push it as hard as I might have wanted to. Best to have more power in reserves than to rely too much on PA I think. Amp is a Matamp GT200.
9. Green Muff clone
10. the ebay forum should just be renamed the 'bad relic' forum
The 410HLF is an immense cab. Used to have one and loved it. Fantastic "massive sounding single cab" solution.
Yeah I figured for a single unit it would have the most rounded sound, which was a big appeal. Looking forward to getting it in the studio and on stage asap.
Nice! The amp looks pretty cool, whats the speaker/s in th3 cab?
I don't know about the speakers to be honest, it's a stock Ampeg SVT 410HLF: http://www.ampeg.com/products/classic/svt410hlf/ One thing I wasn't expecting was the depth of the cab, which doesn't come across in the picture. It really is a large piece of kit!
15. Finally I can post to this thread!

Matamp GT200 and an Ampeg SVT 410HLF Things may never be the same again.
18. Chris went completely above and beyond the call of duty when shipping me a big Ampeg cab this week - a great guy to deal with. Thanks Chris.
19. manual : http://www.marshalla...eType=DOWNLOADS It's 8 or 16 Ohm only: Impedance Selector Switch: Two-way switch for matching the amplifier to speaker impedance. Amp heads feature 8 or 16 Ohm operation. Combo versions feature 4 or 8 Ohm options. Guessing they used the same backplate on the combos as the heads. So nope you can't use a 4Ohm cab with this one. If you wanted to use 2 cabs they would have to be 16Ohms each, and you would set the switch to 8Ohms.
