I like to imagine 3 people carrying this amp, one on each end, and one in the middle, straddling the amp and carrying it between their legs.
Apologies, OFF TOPIC.
It sounds exactly like the first 7 seconds of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7J37mp0JJCE
Neck is a chunky P shape.
Plays like a dream.
The headstock has had the typical repair, but I think most of them have this or the piece missing altogether.
I don't know what the strings are - they're not nylons... They sound incredible... they are black and they each have a different colour cotton coating thing at the end where they're wound... Anyone know what they are?
Upper horn isn't even noticeable when I play it (so far).
Nice - I have a '65 mosrite as well! Mine's identical but in sunburst.
The blue is my absolute favourite colour though. Here's why:
If I had seen it before you I have no doubt it would be in my hands now.
I used a BF compact (1x15) with a matamp GT200 for quite a while - but I wasn't impressed, it just didn't do the amp justice. Moved on to a matamp 2x12 and haven't looked back.
I've heard good things about the 2x15s though.
But there's definitely something about the one-handed lift at the end of a big night - it's a lifesaver.
Anyone got one? Have the ever been reissued? are they short scale?
Keen for some pics if anyone out there is an owner... really curios about these things.
