  5. Hi Guys thanks for the replies, some food for thought amongst the posts, i have no great preference for Jazz basses in my new search. The other "problem" at the moment is now is not a good time to sell a bass and get a good price, and very few people are trading down. I have been looking at Overwater recently so there is a possible option and i could potentially get it with my prefered options etc. Anyway the search continues. Cheers Paul.
  6. I currently have 4 basses, but only play at home, i have no immediate plans to gig etc. I recently put my basses up for trade/sale and although i had a number of interesting offers nothing that really jumped out at me and i apologise to anyone i messed around in my deliberations. I want just one "special" bass, i have worked out it has to be ideally 4 string, fretted but beyond that i don't know what it is. I have the value? of my existing basses and around £1000 budget, i realize this is an enivible position to be in but anyone got any suggests what to look at. I like all my basses and they all are great, but there is no love. Is this early onset of GAS. Cheers Paul.
  7. Hi all, to date i'm not sure if James got his money back, he and the Police were putting pressure on Cash converters and as it was proven to be stolen i guess they have a moral obligation but i;m not sure if a legal obligation. The strange fact in the whole story is eleven years passed and who knows how many pairs of hands but it still stayed in Gloucester until purchased by James from Cash converters.
  8. Hi, i am still unable to put the pics up, but if someone can for me i will e-mail them the pics and they can include it in the post somewhers. The ebay seller was a guy called James his ebay shop is Bristol guitars and he really is a top bloke, between him and me we had to do all the leg work. Still the police get a "clear up" after 11 years! Cheers Paul.
  9. Sorry yes 2001 obviously (i have editted the original post), i have taken pictures of the bass, but i get an error message saying i have exceded my 30 something limit any ideas what i should/can do ?
  10. I'll put up pictures later, i did'nt think you would want them, clearly wrong!
  11. Hi all, Today i got my Jackson concert XL bass back after 11 years. It was stolen from a shop in Gloucester in 2001 i had at the time been looking to sell it on comission, when some toerag pinched it. The shop would not claim on their insurance, but did report it. I was as you can imagine not happy. Fast forward to 4 weeks ago, my daughter and her fiancee were staying at our house and watching some celebrity dancing sh**e. So i decided to look on ebay (i hardly ever bother normally) put in basses within 75miles of my postcode, scroll through the basses and up pops a Jackson concert, i take a closer look, its been refinished, i had mine refinished, same pickups, same sharksfin inlays, bound neck etc. So i e-mail the seller, who could not have been more helpful, we speak on the phone, i discribe the bass etc then i contact the police get the original incident number, get back in touch with the seller who says he bought it from Crack converters in Gloucester (who have been less than helpful). police pick it up, return it to the original shop and i picked it up from there today. Still plays great, still the best neck i have ever played, just got to sort the crackly jack socket out. To finsh off the story i went into the newsagent on the way home Bass Guitar Magazine - Dave Ellefson on the cover (hes the reason i bought my Jackson originally) and his new Jackson signature bass conicidence or what? sorry for the long winded tale but i'm stoked.
