2. 11th would be better for me . Playing on the 18th .. although I'd still probably be able to make it if it started late morning or something.
3.
Sorry its not strictly Bass related... Does anyone know of a reliable and competant drummer I can call upon for depping in my function band? Best if located in the south east although we do play all over the country. Cheers Wazz
I know of one based in Eastbourne, but I doubt travelling all over the country would be possible for him as he has a pretty heavy teaching calender too.
4. Just a bump for a quality bit of kit!!
5. This looks good for me . Russ buys the Roscoe and does all the legwork getting it down from up North. He gets bored of it after a year and that way I only have a 20 minute drive to go take it off his hands lol
6. A nice pile of GB basses ... there's also a very cool jigsaw puzzle on the GB website in the dowloads section
7. Sounds a bit like you nearly hit rock bottom and now you're on the up. Congrats ..life's a roller coaster Nick
8.
I am still persuing a couple of suitable venues. It will take a little longer. I really don't see the urgency, impatience and panic, just as long as it happens.
No urgency as far as I'm concerned .. and certainly not panicking lol
9. And I really don't have anything against Northern Monkies .... I'm not allowed to, I'm engaged to a Yorkshire lass lol
10. If I could think of somewhere suitable near me, I'd be more than happy to take the reins and get this this underway. Alas I cant but I really think someone has to take this under there wing much as Arrowhead Paul has done in the past. I'd just like to see this thing happen. Nick.
11. BUMP ... we cant let this thread slip into page 2 when the Northern monkeys have the midlands bash stickied lol
12. I cant remember where I've seen these, but I've seen simple rubber mats for sale for that purpose. Similiar sort of size to a doormat, and just a soft rubber.
13.
What, no Musicman ? (pre and post EB)
I reckon it's more likely the OLP Tony Levin will be collectable lol
14.
MB1. CAUSE I CAN!!! however you might or might not have noticed? I DONT DO IT ALL THE TIME!
Split personaility lol
15.
He's a lovely bloke too, just go up to him and introduce yourself as a fellow bass player. He's done sessions with pretty much every big UK name in the 70's and 80's plus others. He's also famous for writing the bass line to Lou Reeds "Take a Walk on The Wild Side" and not getting paid any more than studio scale for it!
Maybe I'll drop by and see him then. It's always cool meeting someone with that amount of experience under there belt. If they're wearing one of course.
16.
For all the excellent work he's done read about it here he's probably best known for writing Clive Dunns' "Grandad". Go figure
Thanks for that Andy ..... one of those bassists that everyone's heard, but not known who it was. I didnt know who Jamerson was until 5 years ago lol
17. Leo's final and arguably best creation .. G&L basses
18.
I'd like to catch up with Herbie but I'm not going to drive back from Shoreham at 11pm.
Strange thing about Herbie Flowers is.... his name is very familiar to me, as I've heard him mentioned for years. But I have no idea who he is, or what he's done . The photo on that ad gives me a first impression of him I could do without lol Nick.
19. There's a thread dedicated to amp techies in the repair section
20. Cracking basses . I gigged mine almost exclusively for getting on for 20 years. Now retired from gigging in favour of more strings, but still gets regularly played in my bass room. It'll be my boys first bass
21. Maybe it's an incentive to register to unregistered nosey people
22. Blimey that takes me back some years when my ole man used to have cb in the car. My handle was "Mr Bassman" lol
23. Here's Andy Collins' (as listed above) website. http://www.antech-systems.com I've since had my abm serviced by him and he did a great job. Touch over £60 if I remember rightly. Nick
24. June 2009? I'm just not available on the 10th as it's my birthday ok?
25. I vote pearloid white too. Just did a "build a bass" thing on the ernie ball website, and those colours go well together
