  1. I had 2 Super Compacts and now a Super Twin which for me is the ultimate one cab solution. Now using an Ampeg Rocket B200r combo for a bluesy/funky/Soul project so may very reluctantly move on the BFST on as it’s not getting the love it needs right now. Would buy another again on a heart beat if I did.
  2. Thanks for that. To be honest I have it but haven’t got round to setting it up yet. Thanks for letting me know how it works
  3. Sorry to hear you keep getting your basses nicked. Might be worth getting those mini tracking devices in the gig bag or under the pick guard.
  4. Last night I got to use my recently purchased Ampeg B200r at rehearsal last night with my 81 Tokai P Bass with black nylons. Sounded fantastic. Lovely fat, gritty old school tone. Just as a bass should be 😀😀😀 I can see me letting the Barefaced Supertwin and Ashdown ABM500 go (will get another if I ever join a super loud rock band again). Will gig with it in a few weeks time and make the final decision then. Nice when a purchase exceeds your expectations!
  5. I have one. Really useful piece of kit for practicing, rehearsals and gigs. I have a decent pedal board but often just take this instead.
  6. This a fantastic modular rehearsal (1 cab) and gig rig (2 cab). GLWTS
  7. Lovely looking bass. Won’t be here for long. GLWTS
  8. I have one. These cabs are fantastic!!!
  9. I just recently bought an Ampeg B200r for £200 but it’s not light! See if your folks can lend you a hundred quid and get yourself a Rumble or one of the Ashdown Studio range.
  10. Barefaced Supertwin has a very level tone throughout so might be worth throwing in the mix too. I have one. Would recommend. Can coax pretty much most styles out of it. Especially using a decent eq pedal.
  11. I have a Super Twin. These are fantastic cabs. Perfect one cab solution. Not much bigger than a single cab. Buy with confidence!
  12. Always used to do this during the sound check so either the guitarist and sound engineer wouldn’t catch me turning round and turning the amp up! 😂
  13. How did I miss this. D’oh!
  14. Just checked out the Yamaha site: RB115 - £671 RB210 - £818 Seems very pricey to me. Good luck Ampeg. Think you are going to need it at those prices!
  15. Thanks for pointing this out. Funny how I picked an original one up on Sunday! Ampeg should have done this 5-10 years ago.
  16. Just cranked it up (with neighbours blessing). Really loud, great tone and no rattles (apart from everything else in the room!). #win

Like most bassists I’ve always wanted the holy grail of bass amps, the Ampeg B15. But being too financially embarrassed and sensible enough not to buy one, I’ve hankered after the poor mans substitute the Ampeg B100r or B200r instead. I’ve looked around for quite a while now. After about 6 months I’ve been super lucky to pick up an American made B200r in near mint condition. Got it for a relative steal. Found it on FB marketplace. Super happy boy today!!
  18. I had one. Great pedal. Looks lovely too.
  19. I believe Mark Gooday at Ashdown own BA55 AMP. Might be worth getting in touch. He is also good friends with Guy Pratt. He might be interested too.
