  1. Up for sale is a lovely white Yamaha BB424x. I recently bought it from Sparky Mark but it’s not getting the love it deserves as I’ve come to realise I’m definitely a P bass player. I’m guessing my name would give that away. It’s in great condition apart from a bit of obligatory minor headstock dings. Neck feels great and is fast, the pickups sound lovely. Lots of different tones. Unfortunately it’s just not for me. Hope Mark doesn’t mind but here is his original ad with a much better description and photos than I am capable of. Click on for details.
  2. Cheap as the proverbial chips!
  3. The tone from the headphone was fantastic too
  4. I had an Ampeg PF500 for a couple of years. Great live amp and also good for practice as it has a headphone and aux socket too. Has a compression knob and an Fx blend too. Really simple but useful 500w bass amp.
  5. Vedran bought an Ampeg PF500 from me a few months back. He lives in Croatia and it was a little difficult arranging a courier because of the lockdown/travel issues but I managed to source one for him. Unfortunately in transit they managed to break one of the handles. I made quite a lot of phone calls and scoured the internet and finally tracked one down. Had to wait almost 10 weeks before he got the part because it was out of stock and took weekly nudging to find out the situation to the supplier. Finally it arrived this week! Vedran has been a pleasure to deal with and his English is much better than he lets on. We have maintained regular, friendly contact during the transaction. I am glad that it has now all come to a successful conclusion. Great guy, deal with in confidence!
  6. Looks like It’s a 1981 and the higher spec 80 model.
  7. I have this exact set up on one of my basses. Works really well.
  8. Symptoms The most important symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of any of the following: a new continuous cough a high temperature a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia) For most people, COVID-19 will be a mild illness.
  9. We were outside and standing well apart from each other. The risk is absolutely minimal (and we are not fragile or vulnerable). It was also banter.
  10. We were outside standing at least 2 metres apart. Felt he was being over cautious. I observe the social distancing rules when necessary but I refuse to live in fear. If you wish to, feel free to do so.
  11. Look at the research and decide if the rewards out way the risk. Personally, I think we are overly fearful of this virus. We did an outdoor front garden gig Last weekend. The drummer turned up wearing a face mask and latex gloves. He’s a fit, healthy 40 yo. Told him to stop being a meow meow and man the f*ck up. Not very PC but someone has to say it.
  12. Maybe do the opposite of what I used to do a few years back where I used to put a foam mute under the E and A strings but not the D & G so I had nice low end thump but bright pop for higher octave parts. Maybe slip a bit of foam under the D & G and see if that helps.
  13. I find it funny that these seem to sell for quite a bit less than a standard sansamp just because of the lack of mid knob. Easily fixable by setting your amp right first of all. I find having the 3 programmable options super handy when playing in a covers band a mixed set list. Gives you 4 settings with amp used the core clean tone. Can be used with either a PSU, 9v battery or phantom power too!
  14. Got to break the rules. Think you are going to regret letting it go and especially so cheaply. But if needs must 😢
  15. This is an absolute bargain. It is also the PB60 model which is a higher spec over the PB45. I am the proud owner of an 81 Tokai Hard Puncher.
  16. If have one. I've A/B'd them against my proper pedals and they seriously hold their own against them. Great practice tool too.
  17. I had a single SC, then got a second one. Wasn't really needed so I moved it on and then regretted selling it so I bought a Super Twin. Not much bigger than my SC but a fraction wider so my 19" rack unit fits properly (ish) on top. Don't think I'll move it on. Really impressed by the weight, looks and sound. Dont wait for one to pop up. Be proactive and ask in the items wanted list.
  18. Great little boost pedals. Have one at the end of my chain as an overall boost. Great for when the guitarist takes a solo to fill out the sound.
  19. Mods. Please withdraw from sale. Think I'm going to keep it now as there's not been a lot of love for it (surprisingly) so I've managed to squeeze it onto my pedal board.
