  1. Maybe what you're really after is a P bass through an Ampeg/Ashdown for a grittier tone. I had a Mark Bass Randy Jackson amp. Was a decent enough beast but there was no sizzle with the steak. Can you borrow another rig and A/B it side by side. Greyhounds aren't guard dogs and Rottweilers won't win races.
  2. Here is my first real bass. Bought a s/h Tokai Hardpuncher when I was 15 but sold it when I bought a heavily modded Fender Precision Special. I sold it a few years later as I wrongly assumed you only needed 1 bass (silly boy!). Last summer (30 years later) I bought another Tokai Hardpuncher. Turns out I actually bought my original one back!!! The serial number was quite destinctive and similar to my mums phone number.
  3. I'm guessing the answer is 'no one in the foreseeable future'
  4. +1 for Ashdown. If it was me, and it was and I did, I would do this: 1. Ashdown ABM 500 £175 2. Barefaced SuperTwin £675 3. Dark glass distortion pedal £150 These are obviously rough s/h prices
  5. There's an Ampeg PF50t for sale. That'll do for most gigs. £400
  6. I agree. I didn't want to assume you were rich or not. However, for some of our fellow BC'ers money doesn't appear to be an issue with their Foderas and other expensive bits of kit, which I suspect half of them probably can't play very well but have the money to convince others that they can. Miaow.
  7. I have an EHX wah with built in fuzz. Happy to sell. 😀
  8. Have you considered the new Ashdown CTM200R?
  9. Up for sale are my Labella deep talking 110-52 flats. These are the ones used by James Jamerson (not literally!). The silks are worn but the strings are great. Fantastic for that old school Motown vibe. Cut for a Fender Precision, etc. £25 inc postage. Now £22 Sold
  10. Sold now. Please close. Thanks.
  11. Last chance guys. Going to remove it tomorrow. Now includes free postage!
  12. Last chance guys. Had a few bites but will remove it tomorrow. This is a great pedal and is in excellent condition with the box. Free postage now.
  13. These are great amps. This is an excellent price too!
  14. I loved my Mk1 Orange Terror Bass. Had an amazing heavy, bluesy, rock tone. Regretted selling it for more versatility i.e. Mark Bass TTE500. Which was a lovely looking amp but lacked grit or bottom end punch even though it had pre amp valves too
  15. D'oh. Was just about to buy them too!
  16. I love the name. Any chance to slip in a sneaky swear word is good with me: Two hats, one car, fox hat, etc
  17. I am sure it will sound great but she ain't no looker that's for sure!
