  1. Yep, that's what I thought Michael but I guess I just wanted air my annoyance about these sites and to say how this would never/rarely happen on BC.
  2. Just bought a tc mini spark on gumtree described as 'in new condition' but this thing has more scratches than Run DMC and the singing detective. Sent the seller an email that my wasn't best pleased but wondered what my best course of action/expectations are? love to hear your stories too.
  3. Easter Special - just £35 with free postage this weekend!
  4. I believe the guys from Zilla are currently on holiday/recently were (Facebook) That may be the reason for the lack of response.
  5. Both the wah and fuzz can be used independently or both together. Now just £35.00 plus £4.99 postage
  6. I have 2 X Barefaced Super Compacts. 1 is plenty, 2 is fantastic.
  7. Barefaced 110? New wife? Up to you
  8. Would love this bass. My main/original bass (retired) is a very, very modified precision special. Fantastic tone but super heavy. I had to buy a comfort strap. This one looks absolutely amazing. GLWTS
  9. Up for sale is an EHX crying Fuzz Wah pedal. Great bit of kit in good condition. I mainly use my MXR envelope filter for 'bringing the funk' so this is now surplus to requirements. Comes with a free battery too. Looking for £40 delivered to your door. https://www.ehx.com/products/crying-bass
  10. Beautiful. Reminds me of the 1980 Walnut Precision Special.
  11. Yeah, I hear you guys. Just frustrating. The venue actually did fail to promote, the football was on in the other bar, etc It was the first gig the wife had seen me play in a while and I was really hoping to impress her as I have significantly improved over the last few years (practise, practise, practise) but there was only about 10 people there. They loved it but.....
  12. Hi BC'ers, Had a great gig last night (playing wise). We had a pro keys player with us for the previous nights rehearsal and gig. Sounded fantastic. Hyped it up to friends on Facebook, etc. However, hardly anyone turned up. It was a little bit embarrassing to be fair. Feeling quite flat today, even though I know we played our socks off. Trying to be stoic about it but it's hard when you know how hard you practised, the gear sounded great and we were on point. Just wondered how you guys deal with gigging set backs?
  13. I see that the singer 'dresses to the left'
  14. It's probably because they are failed, jaded, wannabe rockstars who believe that we are lucky to be breathing the same air as them.
  15. Hey Martin, they're amateurs for good reason. They don't know how to behave like professionals. Lick your wounds, then move on and move up. Best of luck to you.
  16. Had a rehearsal last night and used Snow Owl's settings from the LBGS. Sounded fantastic, so I sent him a message this morning telling him so. Got a lovely reply back 20 mins ago. Top, top fella!
  17. I'm a big P fan but this is just lovely!
  18. How about leaving it in the boot of your car and wrap a blanket round it. Saves having to put it in your loft after gigs and rehearsals.
  19. Started with a pick (which was looked down upon by the 'proper' bass players at the time!), then learnt finger style and now use my thumb an awful lot to get a real deep muted bass tone. The answer is to learn all the styles and use whichever technique is most appropriate for the song.
  20. Thanks. 17.27kg.
  21. What is the weight and measurements of the amp please Jack?
  22. Took my boy with me again yesterday. He had a great time and really wanted me to buy him a s/s Mustang. Maybe next year Had a lovely chat again with Chris Childs who I met with at a Thunder gig in Frankfurt about 5 weeks ago. Top bloke and was really impressed by his fretless playing in the masterclass. He even let me play his bass but unfortunately has one too many strings for me! Saw Snow Owl on his recommendation and he was amazing. Really good energy from him. Gave me some useful tips for my envelope filter too. Had a nice chat with Mark Gooday from Ashdown and he is exactly like he is in his promo videos. Passionate about his company, cars and grandchildren. Good guy.
  23. Unfortunately the genie is out of the bottle when it comes to 'free music'. The consumers expect to get music for nothing nowadays. That is why the live sector is so expensive/profitable instead. £20 tickets become £30 tickets, £40 becomes £50-60, T shirts go from £15 to £20-25, etc. Record labels understandably now sign artists to 360 deals instead of straight record sales wanting a slice of every potential revenue stream. New acts will struggle as the longer term investment/support needed to break a new band will not be there and it will be up to the band/management to build a reasonable audience first. They will probably have to set up/sign to small, independent labels. Which ultimately may prove better for music in the long term. Or not.
