It's all original as made by Sandberg. Here's the description from the second video linked above - it mentions that the Gotoh bridge was part of the original build spec: "I sold this bass the recently... but we recorded this last video one day before it was shipped to its new owner. This custom-built Sandberg California TT4 was part of the "Selected Unique" series, that was created by me back in the days when I was working at Musik Schmidt in Frankfurt/Germany. All basses of this series were passive, got a set of Kloppmann 60JB pickups, a simple Gotoh bridge and each one had a different finish. I used to call this bass "The Grail" cause it had one of the most comfortable necks I've ever put my hands on. The body was made from alder, the neck from canadian hard maple and fretboard from rosewood. The finish is Sandberg's Soft Aged Black. This bass got the full "Masterpiece" treatment but I decided to get it just a bit worn, not the full beat up thing that Sandberg likes to do."

I bought an NS Omni CR5 bass from Owen and it was one of the most pleasant deals I've had here. The communication started in May and went merrily along until it took a break and resumed again in June. Once the deal was closed, things moved swiftly along and completed in successfully. A highly recommended BC-er. Cheers.

This is the video that inspired me to buy this bass. However, the one in the video is a masterpiece model (with sound treatment and aged finish), has Kloppmann pick-ups (I have them on another Sandberg and they are the best vintage jazz pick-ups I've heard), and a vintage bridge. The bass on sale has Sandberg pick-ups, Sandberg bridge, black hardware, and a matched head-stock but with a similar tonal character.

*SOLD* One of the best stock 6-string basses in the market and one of the best 6-strings I've ever owned. The reason I am selling is that I have decided to invest in a Zon Legacy Elite fretless and need to raise cash for it (*No Trades*). The combination of Ash-Alder-Maple-Ebony generates very clear, focussed, piano-like tones throughout the length of the neck. It is currently set up with a low action and the dual truss rods keep the neck very straight - I haven't adjusted it since I bought it. Strings still have the sparkle in them. The 19mm string spacing the at the bridge affords the same playability as "the great classic instruments we all love". I have not played any Master-built or Custom Shop Fenders but I have played a couple USA Fenders (Jazz and Precision) which are high-quality Fenders. For me, the Maruszczyks (I've only played the Elwoods) are a notch above as they have the same, if not better, level of quality, with added customization options (in terms of the woods, pickups, preamps, colour combinations, etc.) which you would only get with a custom build but at a much lower price-point. I believe, in terms of a Jazz-style bass, I might have found, with the Elwood, the perfect combination of design, build quality, tone, and playability for me (especially the Absolution specification). The proof of my conviction is that I almost always try to shop second-hand to reduce cost but with the Elwood, I decided to order new directly from their website - not one but two together! (in addition to two second-hand ones ) More power to Adrian and his team. I wish them all the best to continue their great work.

Happy to join the M-club. Recently acquired this Elwood 'Blacky' bass: http://www.public-pe...ky-custom100131 Am very happy with the sound, construction, and playability. Want to get a fretless one and the best one I've seen online is this - both the bass and amongst Adrian's demos: (my only gripe against it are the blocked inlays - will look for a similar spec without it) http://www.public-peace.de/index.php/bass-guitars/fretless-basses/593-elwood-4a-absolution-black-burst-fretless240169
