One of the most beautiful basses I have ever seen! Splendid!

Hi, I am looking for 'The Fretless' to add to my collection. This one looks pristine. Are you sure the body wood is Mahagony? I didn't know it had stripes like that. Are there any audio recordings of this bass available? Are there any markers on the top side of the neck? How easy would it be to convert this to a lined fretless? Thanks, Vic.

I bought this bass on a whim, last year, from Clint. It sounds great playing with a plectrum and finger-style. I would love to hold on to this bass but I have relocate due to changes in my work situation, and need to reduce the number of basses and also raise some funds for the move. I don't see myself really using this bass and hence am letting it go. Keeping with the BassChat code of conduct, I would like to get back what I spent buying it. The sale price is 320GBP. The strap and strap locks will also be included as I received them with the bass. (The gig bag is a new Ritter bag I bought for 20 - I could include it in the sale for an additional 10GBP.) I would prefer cash-on-collection in London. If you want it shipped, the packaging would be an issue and hard case would have to bought for it. (I have Warwick rock case on sale as well.) I recently acquired a ACG Recurve 6 here on BC and hence am letting go of this - my first 6-string bass. I bought it new in 2007 from Guitar Center, San Jose. It was professionally set up in the shop and it still retains the same action! Perfectly straight neck, low action and very clean in recordings (the only time there is any noise is if you max the Treble on the EQ but I've seen that happen in most basses). The neck is quite thin and with this string spacing, this is probably the easiest 6-string that you could ever play. I am a 4-string bass player and I bought this to check the whole 6-string scene. It couldn't have been easier. In fact, I bought another 6-string with wider string spacing and couldn't adjust to it. The bass has been gigged only about 3 times but is in pristine condition. I baby all my basses and this is no exception. I can't spot any dings anywhere on the bass. The only cosmetic change is that the chrome on the bridge is fading naturally. I don't know if this can be fixed by some polish or treatment. [u]Attention[/u]: The current version of this bass has a Mid-frequency selector switch - *This is the older version that does NOT have this switch*. It was a pleasure dealing with you! The Bass has so much character! It is a treasure trove of sounds. And it is so easy to play though it is a 6 string. I am going to be spending a lot of time with this one! I have a feeling this one might be a keeper! Cheers!

Don't think I could afford the cash price unless I sell one of my basses to raise more funds. I am not too familiar with Overwater basses. Are these single coil PUPs? In terms of the sound, how close (or far) would this one be to a Fender Marcus Miller (MIJ) Jazz bass? (I know that it is a bit of a stretch - the only thing I see in common is the Maple fretboard.)

Wow! What a stash! I used to own a pristine Nobby Meidel 4-string circa 2000. Sold it for a ridiculously low sum. It had some of the best tone woods and hardware I have seen on any bass. It was part of a limited edition series. I think it was handmade coz the finishing was perfect. Despite the odd design, it was easy to play and had a great clean tone. Bump for a fabulous bunch of basses!
