1.
Err.... yes. I couldn't help thinking that I might act like an idiot too if I thought it would get me closer to such a beautiful woman. Of course that was in my bachelor days, when my brains got turned to pulp by testosterone. Now they get turned to pulp by the kids.
Me too, bless us oldies!
2. Excellent, Cheers Ped......loving the thumb rest.
3. On hold for an hour or so.
4. I have the chance to buy a Rumour to go with my GB Spitfire so although I don't actually need the cash I try to only have two basses on the go at gigs, so although I've only had this five minutes she needs to go. Mint 1975 RI Fender Jazz, made in the USA. Absolutely mint and shiny all over. Fitted with brand new set of stainless steel Overwater roundwound strings, 40's, Tort scratchplate, (original white one is included). Both, unused pickup covers and string mute. Case is mint, bar the tiniest of nicks on the top all catches work fine and includes key. Fabulous bass, I think in the sexier of the two colour schemes with the rosewood board, traditional white binding and mother of pearl blocks, I think the maple necked ones with the black binding look a bit, well....... Super slim neck. These are much rarer than the maple necked ones. Just plain gorgeous really, £875 shipped insured. Some pics......
5. Wow, thats suprisingly cool! never seen one before, love the contours on the body, got any more pics of the headstock fron and back and those cool looking tuners?
6. +1 for the BC police, there aint much get passed us!
7. Had first full on praccy with my new USA '75 RI tonight, didn't take the GB. I can't believe how two basses can perform so differently. Having practiced for months with the guys with the GB the Jazz just seemed to throw my timing out, just subtly but noticeable as if there is a definite almost delay in the production of the note. Or its more likely im used to the immediacy of the GB's active electronics and how fast it reacts, I know we are probably talking milleseconds here, and the Fender sounds great, just a whole different lazy playing style. Am I mad or has anybody else found this when switching between active and passive basses.

22.
Strippers. I remember back in the 80's, when I was first working, as an admin' assistant , my colleagues and I used to frequent a certain hostilary in Birkenhead, where the strippers used to knock out audience members if there was any touchage of the sweater meat. Happy days.
oooerrr I remember those days, but perhaps we are straying off the subject a tad and becoming sader than sad!
23. This wasn't built for me, it was part of a triplet of basses made from the same piece of american walnut facings, my particular bass was made for a trade show, and I happened upon it by a freak phone call to Bernie, (as id been wanting one for years) saying " I want a Spitfire, what have u got?" reply was " well I just build to order but' and the rest is history, it was just what I was after a beautifull 4 stringer with a maple neck, all the electronics etc and a joy to play. Pics as requested, spot the tronics under the see thru cover, nice touch!
24. Thought I'd see what my newish '75 USA RI Jazz looked like with a tort guard on, me thinks I like. This is her before. What ya think?
