1. I like playing at home so am sticking with my GB! She is high maintenace and costly as you would expect but the rewards from the quality materials are there for all to see but only for me to play with. Been using her extensively lately, so have had to buff her up tonight and bring back the finish. Showing a little wear on the lower area but thats understandable after three weeks of extensive use, so shes calling for a week off for maintenance and a change of batteries. Ho Hum.
 2. Well huge thanks to all the replys, i guess a small drink b4 might help. My biggest problem is being tied to the music book, ive tried to learn patterns and stuff for songs which helps, but ive only mastered about half the set without music.
 3. After literally decades of playing Gospel music all over the place, a few months ago I decided to join a secular band for some fun and b4 I get too old to pick the thing up! After 2 months practice we have our first gig on the 11th April at a club. The difference in clientel as it were worries me and I'm getting nervous, any tips for a cure?

 7.
Yes, I think someone should patrol the room with a big ugly stick* for those times when the cacophony gets a bit out of hand... *pretty much any Warwick should do.
Oooo my sentiments exactly!

 19.
...speaking of North East, is there anyone out this way that wants a lift? I may be able to go if I can find someone to share fuel costs/stop me getting lost... I'm in Hull, but could go across to Manchester/Leeds I suppose - looks like Sheffield is on the way too. Is anyone bringing their other halves? Maybe we could setup a makeup/shoes/ perfume alternative for them
if my other half looked like yours youd be well advised to leave her at home!

 22.
This bass makes me want to cry, I absolutely love sunburst and tort vintage jazzes, it would only be better if it was an early 70s (just for asthetic reasons). The worst part is that I'm 27 now and in 15 years time when I have climbed the greasy poll sufficiently to afford it and buy one of these it'll cost me 3-4 times as much, buying it now would actually save me money in the future. Alas I'm getting married in April 09 and I need to spend the cash on other things. Good luck with the sale Steve, I'll have to go now, the tears are making my keys too wet to type...
You look to have more than enough basses to keep you content, plus with a new wife you'll be up to your watery eyes in wall papering and drain cleaning and stoking the fire! with no time for playing.
 23. I've had this about 2 months now and played it in most scenarios, my Gospel Bands, a Wedding do and several Covers band rehearsals. With +- 20 odd db on the three band eq most sounds are easily available through a set flat eqd LM11 and UL310. I would say that the mid control is overly fierce in comparison to the bass and treble, I understand these are adjustable and will get it seen to next time I visit Bernie. The overall output is hugely powerful and you do need to be carefull with your pre settings initially, and you need quality kit to bring out all the tonal nuances and harmonics she can produce. I call it the slap switch but it actually changes the pickup setup from parrallel to series I believe. The difference is subtle but unmistakably "GB" and adds that instant slight zing and almost a sort of echo to your slap notes, hard to explain! Playablity is superb, I understand the shape has changed over the years, and this being the latest incarnation is hugely playable, the neck is a work of art satin smooth and between Jazz and PB at the nut, just right. One comment I would make is that the bottom strap button being offset to one side makes it difficult to balance against a wall or your cab so the use of a stand is essential with such an investment, I would have preferred perhaps the twin button setup ala Status basses, small thing but trying to be objective. Bernies use of some fancy woods in my opinion makes for one mighty pretty bass, almost too much so if I were to frequent any "Pub" gigs, so I must invest in a less valuable instrument for those occasions. The finish and workmanship is impeccable and I would urge folk to try one if they get a chance, its a large investment but at my time of life its about time I spent some on myself. There are several Custom manufacturers in this price region and for the investment you have a choice to make if you want to stray away from the usual Fender fare and be "different", folk tend not to ask what sort of bass is that for some reason, which is cool with me.
 24.
My cats REALLY like my UL410, but thankfully I got a cover as a part of the sale (cheers Owen), which solved the problem before it started. They sleep on the cover, which isn't bad really. You should see the state of my Ashdown EB though!
do ya know where owen got the cover i could do with one to cover the UL310 you sole me, going great guns btw ta
