1. I would like some kind of non Fender fretless. Maybe a Stingray, Warwick or Status. Need to sell the Fender CIJ 62 fretless jazz and Squire VM fretless first. I think that's all I need.
 2. Hey Rich, great to here you are well and keeping busy. Take care.
 3.
Of course we are not comparing ourselves to JJ, or Flea, Mark King or Scott Thunes, but we can surely say we are proud of our bass playing to some degree at some point.
I think this knocks the nail on the head for me. I've had a little success but I'm generally unknown (do get noticed from time to time) but I have had comments from other more famous bass players saying I'm a good bass player. In fact, I gave up bass playing when my band folded and the only reason I took it up again was because a few people on different occasions were shocked to here I was not playing anymore and I was wasting a talent by not playing. So for me, the point is, on one hand there is no doubt that JJ, Flea, Mark King etc are all superb bass players, but I am 100% sure that there are as good and if not better bass players here who are just not in the limelight. We all know that talent rarely is the reason for success these days and I am sure a lot of bass players here would be considered among the ranks of great bass players if they had the media exposure. I think we should all be proud of our achievements, despite how big or small they are as long as our goals are realistic.
 4. Don't like Stuart Hamm's playing, music or style but I like this bass. Subtle and streamlined. No fuss about it but modern looking. Gets my vote. Would look great in some funky colours like lime, orange or yellow but would also look great in natural.
 5. Yep, Google UK is my homepage but I always end up at Basschat
 6. Could not pop in to say hi in the end as had the chance to record some bass in the studio. Big sorry to Stingray5 for not getting the chance to try your fretless Ray out. Really wanted to have a go as getting frustrated with my current fretless and need to make a decision soon before I go mad. Hope you all had lots of fun though.
 7.
I knew it!
HEHEHE
 8.
No basses were harmed in making this shot. But, it was absolutely necessary to illustrate that you cannot snack on these basses.
Blimey, thats made it even more tempting to buy if you don't clean that bit of the bass
 9.
You're quite wrong, Clarky. If you have compression on zero it does nothing and if you go to ten you have a hit single.
Only in MP3 format
 10. If I buy this bass do I get a go on .... actually I'm going to stop right there
 11.
Come to think of it, havent seen you much on here Linus! Hope all is well and you are playing more than I am!
Yeah I am good thanks. Been busy with lots of things. Playing wise I am still recording this album which is coming along nicely. Plan to do a massive chunk of recording and mixing over the Xmas break. Really getting into fretless now and might shift my Fender CIJ 62 RI fretless for a fretless Stingray if money allows. As for non playing then busy with work and getting my 8 year old son into karting. Apart from that, still alive and having fun
 12. Not seen OutToPlayJazz on here for a while. Anyone know where he has gone?
 13.
Doh; silly me!! Yes of course; we will pay you a years worth of guitar lessons
Ah torture, can't you make it bass lessons instead
 14.
Yes! For a small fee....
Surely my presence will add great value to the event and you should be paying me. Is that not how it works?
 15.
Yes indeed, 4-string lined fretless, in fact. Click on my signature pic below and you can see it (2nd from left).
Ah ha, excellent, thank you. Even better that its lined as I am looking at a lined one at the moment.
 16.
I'll have my fretless Ray with me. You're welcome to give it a go.
Coool and its a four string and not five? Anymore than four strings and I get a brain meltdown
 17. Can anyone just turn up and have a browse and say hi as it would be good to pop in if I can get away from other stuff. Also, is anyone bringing a Stingray fretless 4 string I could try?
 18.
Are you a Virgo?
If you mean me then no, a Gemini.
 19.
You can make a major key sound sad. There's a deep sense of pathos in your playing. I think you are very self aware and consciously predict how you will react to situations, which takes some of the pleasure out of new experiences and can lead to introspection and lead to your being maudlin. Your playing reminds me of Peter Hook, you understand the power of melody but feel a deep sense of responsibility in life which led yo to play bass instead of guitar.
Blimey, thats pretty damn good actually. Quite scary actually
 20.
1982 seems a popular year: American Express from Sign Language. 2010 Song 5 - from Fear of bicycles. Part of an improv session from a couple of months ago.
Loved both of those songs. Might have to buy your two F.O.B albums. I love fretless and this is right up my street.
 21. This is me playing along to a single my old band, Inter released in 1999. The song is called Radio Finland. At the time I was talking to the singer and I said we should try and make this song very radio friendly but it came out as Radio Finland as I was very drunk and could not speak very well. The title just stuck. The bass is my ESP 400 series Jazz. This song is from 2010 and is a fretless track from an album I am recording with a band called Echo 109. The song is called Dream World. Nigel, here is your chance to analyse my bass playing as discussed some months ago and tell me if I am an eternal optimist or a manic depressive
 22.
May have put this up elsewhere, but anyway Early - around late 70's we reckon I'm Always With You - a rather busy Shergold Marathon Fretless Last Friday night - Maniac
Loved both of those songs. Manic is one of my all time favourite songs so great to hear it again.
 23.
Client confidentiality means I can't tell you but expect semi-clad women and great photos.....
24.
Cheers everyone - it's like a guilty secret!
If this does get moved on, let me know where it goes so I can keep in touch with the new owner as I would like this someday.
 25.
Thanks Linus27 - astonishingly I am at the Westie today as a volunteer and recounted that very same story to Jules (who sends all her best) about an hour ago! Thanks for the nod as well. Really appreciate your help, once again. Hope it's all going well with your venture. Karena has now arrived and sends you all her best as well! --------------------------- So JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR - this is a start up band, amateur, we are very committed but this would not be for an experienced professional (unless you want to help - in which case Hooray!)
Hey Toby, send my love to Jules also. Lovely person and gets far to much flack by the bands and musicians. I must look her up on facebook. Either way say hi her and Karena for me and hope they are both well. Things good for me. Currently recording an album playing fretless on an industrial electronic project and then next year to start another project playing something very stripped out and acoustic still on fretless. Good luck with your band, I'll try and have a think and see if I know of anyone looking for a band and send them your way.
