Thanks a lot mate. Hope you're still loving the Aggys
Yep sure am, best cabs I've had. Will arrange a meet soon, either I'll pop around or your welcome here anytime. Plan to go and see Dave over in Farnham at some point when its a bit warmer. Maybe we could both go with some basses and catch up over a coffee.
Not quite it was pretty much beaten up like that when he got it. The story I recall reading was that he was about to do a video in New York & sent someone out to buy the most beaten up bass they could get and that's what they came back with.
HAHA great story and explains a lot then.
No....I'm saying that he leaves his genuine '53 at home and tours with a Custom Shop replica.
OK, thats my point. The beaten up genuine 53 must had travelled the world and played to millions of people over the years to get that sort of wear and tear. Its not been sitting around doing nothing all this time. He also spent the early days playing Ibanez Musician fretless. I wonder if he still has it.
Or not,as the bass he uses pretty much all the time is a Custom Shop replica of his '53 Precision.
Are you saying that his beaten up 53 is a fake and those scares etc are not genuine?

I love Sting's bass and the whole beaten up thing. Its probably travelled the world thousands of times over and hasw played to millions of people. So very cool.
Talk to Troops: "OK chaps its going to be rough out there, but soon as you hear the whistle its, up the ladder & over the top, OK?"
Why does your fretless look like it has a blue head?
-
Nice bass Nick. Not my cup of tea but she sure is pretty By the way, your old white Precision, bloody amazing. A keeper for sure and my main bass until I get a Stingray fretless which will then share No.1 duties. Never thought I would fall for a Precision so much to be the bass thats out and played the most.
No worries, everythings stuck in limbo at the moment. Don't suppose you've tried flats on your 2eq? I was thinking of getting some TI's for it and wearing them into a warm dub tone
No, not a fan of flats I'm afraid. They sound too dead to my ears. I like a bit of punch.
This would look great with an clear pickguard...
Would look even better with a white one. I would probably have this off you if I could sell a couple of my basses and get some money. However, nothing is selling at the moment so I'm a bit stuck I'm afraid.

Can I just say, that despite ones own Boo Boo, this thread has been rather ace and I am very pleased to see that everyone has taken notice and not avoided this thread and thus avoiding their own peril. I would hate for anyone to have ignored this thread and found themselves in some kind of peril at the expense of my very own Boo Boo.
You should get a good one, i'm a fretless player and I really didn't rate the squier one - if your a jaco fan get Linus' jap one up for sale at £400 the body is alder!
I would have to agree with these very wise words from a very wise talented clever fellow basschat member who is always right, buy my Fender CIJ Fretless Jazz that I have for sale Oh look, I have even provided a link http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=118889
I'm not at my own peril at the moment - is it OK to ignore it at somebody else's peril?
If you are unable to commit to your own peril, you will need to nomitate somebody else who can stand in for you. Other wise your own Boo Boo could be compromised and cause exceissive wear and possibly failure. As original Boo Boo's are quite hard to find, the risk is probably not worth taking. If you need assitance in finding an alternate peril person then a younger sister or under 40 mum seem popular.
