1. I have an ESP 400 series Jazz and your problem is not standard. The controls should be just like any other Jazz with no centre indents. By the way, amazing choice of bass. I have had one for 21 years and its the only bass I would never part with. By the way, please post some piccies as the model sent to Europe has a different head stock so it would be good to see what one you have.
 2. Bought a lovely Fender CIJ 1962 RI Jazz for Terry. Item was as decribed and beautifully set up. Packaging was totally amazing and very secure. Will have no problem buying from him again in the future. Many thanks Terry for everything.
 3.
As soon as i saw this add i thought of PM'ing you about it. Good luck with it.
Thanks Dave, I was on this quicker than a something thats really quick The fretless album I am recording is coming along really well. We have about 7 complete songs in a rough un-mixed state. I am going to record all the bass again with this bass and my ESP when it comes back with the fretless neck. As soon as I have something you can listen to, I send it your way.
 4. Wooohooo this baby's mine. So can't wait to get it and record the fretless album.
 5. I've been trying to find out when a Japanese Fender Jazz has been made and what spec it has. The serial number is Q060288 and says Crafted in Japan underneath it. This info is at the bass of the neck. According to the various Fender website, it says (CIJ) Q + 5 DIGITS 2002-2004 or (MIJ) Q + 6 DIGITS 1993-1994. As it says Crafted in Japan on the base of the neck I would assume that this is what it is from 2002 -2004. However, it says with 5 digits and if you include the first 0 of Q060288 then thats 6 digits. So do I count this first digit or is the bass a Made in Japan from 1993-1994? Also, if the bass is a Crafted in Japan from 2002-2004, will this have the US pickups? I imagine that if its a Made In Japan from 1993-1994 then they won't be US pickups? Very confused
 6. I will certainly give you a good offer on the Warwick but it will be in about 10 years time I'm afraid
 7. That Streamer is totally beautiful. Stunning. If I had no basses now and was buying from new I would have it. Simply beautiful and all the reasons why I adore the look of Warwick's. Have a bump on me.
 8.
don't use the word 'retard' - it's not nice. use a grown-up british word like 'shithead' or 'f**kwit"
I think w*&%*r is the best choice for a british insult.
 9. Shameless request to say, if anyone has a Warwick Corvette Standard in Bubinga that they want to sell, then please let me know. Active or passive is fine but has to be 4 string, fretless and Bubinga.
 10.
You call me an ahso?!?!
11.
ps - I forgot I started this thread!
Ah so its your fault then
 12.
Nope, and at that price, I'm not even remotely interested.
To be honest, I know exactly how you feel, plus its not German
 13.
Well you're right there It's definately yellow, no doubt about it. COME ON! WE'VE GOT THE COLOUR SORTED OUT, LET'S GET IT SOLD
Can I just check first if the yellow has a hint of honeysuckle or more of a splash of bluebell?
 14.
2 pages on whether it's blonde or butterscotch!!!! Bet you wish you hadn't bothered now Tom hahahahaha
These things are important, Blondes are so much more fun
 15. This is the light yellow colour that I know the 90's 51 re-issues were made in as well as sunburst. The later 51 re-issue that was around during 2000 onwards and is butterscotch in colour is this, You can see a very big difference in colour. The later 51 Precision does have a very orange tinge to it where as the earlier model really is very light yellow. A bit like a milky custard.
 16.
Tom's a top guy, and his basses are always set up well, buy with confidence!
Yep, I bought a Stingray from Tom and its the best Stingray I have ever owned.
 17. So has anyone got or even seen or played one of the new Pro Series Corvette's? Would be intesting to see how they compare to the German made models.
 18.
I've got a black and yellow stripey jumper, and used to have a Ibanez Musician fretless.I also used to live 4 doors down from where he used to live.Spooky.
Can you play bass also? If so you are Sting and I claim my £5 please.
 19. Is the colour the lemon yellow that Fender did or is it the Butterscotch that the last run of Fender 51 basses had?
 20.
Because they are small and svelt and don't need a big old ugly body like a Fender to balance against that big old ugly Fender headstock.
but I have little arms and have to stretch and I don't know what svelt means
 21.
It is simply because the top horn on most Warwicks (Corvette, Streamer) only extends to the 15th fret not the 12th, so the fret under your nose on a Warwick is higher than than the one on your Fender, therefore the nut is about three inches or so further away from your body. Hence the stretch.
Ah so that makes sense, thanks Silddx. I wonder why they do this.
 22.
Lovely. That's exactly the bass I want next (except with black hardware and active pups) as sister to my fretless bubinga corvette.
NO NO NO, it was all going to well until you said you had a fretless bubinga corvette. I am so desperate for one of them. Please please please sell me yours. At least post a picture to really upset me
 23.
Fender Jazz/Precision etc are all 34" scale! Unless you've been playing a shortscale Musicmaster or similar you've been playing a 34"
OK, mmm, why does the neck feel longer and more of a stretch on a Warwick then? It has to be because it has more frets/another octave??
 24. I've always loved the look of the Ash Warwicks, especially the Streamer which to me is simply gorgeous. Yet, I never got round to owning one up until the beginning of the year. Even when I had a record company buying me gear, I still never got one. Anyway, in January, I treated myself and bought blind a brand new Ash Covette Standard, one of the last German made ones. I never played one but loved the look and though that if I hated it I would sell it on or swap it. , after about 12 weeks waiting for it to be made, it arrived and wow, what a bass. The good points, 1. Build Quality is out of this world. 2. The tone from a passive bass is stunning, especially the E string. 3. The attention to detail is shocking, even the gig bag had a quality checked sheet signed and dated. 4. You get a owners folder with manual, tools, wax etc. 5. Its very very light. The bad points, 1. Well, its 34" scale which is hard to get used to if you have played Fenders for 23 years. Its still an uncomfortable stretch. 2. I miss the dots on the face of the frets - not a biggy, just used to them after 23 years. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks as they say. 3. It's not a Streamer. Overall, I love my Warwick. Its so very different to all my other basses but in a very good way. I am planning on getting a fretless Warwick now. Probably a Bubinga standard Corvette. However, these are as rare as rocking horse poo and don't hold out much hope of getting one soon.
