Good god Al! I'd have tried to have a go on you Heres one from the othernights gig. I was in my happy place...
You wanna tuck that lead up and around your strap as oneday you will tread on the lead and pull it out of the socket. Probably be mid bass solo -
So, anyway - Alias - much missed. "Outrigger requiring immediate extraction".
I tell you what I am trying to get. Twin Peaks Box Set. However, season 1 is easy but season 2 is near on impossible.

Just to say that Mark has been in touch with me and has sorted out my problem with the strings. Big thanks to Mark for stepping in and fixing the problem. Really appreciate the help. So with that all sorted, we can now get back to talking about Season 3 of Chuck or any teen Vampire killer zombie teenage film that takes peoples fancy
Kudos to this bloke. Heads off a complaint and flogs some product into the bargain. He's clearly a total dude and a player.
Yeah, I thought that also. Made me even more pissed off and I think I will cancel my order this afternoon and go to Andertons.
Er ... and they're late twenty-somethings, not teens. But it is a comedy, of sorts. Maybe GAK's a bit like the BuyMore. Is Mark Random actually 'Big Mike'?
Bagsy be Chuck
It's actually a teen 'spy type' comedy effort, but yes it is rather disconcerting that this thread has been taken over by Chuck fanboys
Oi, its my thread and I love Chuck
Given the difficulty we've experienced collectively in attracting the attention of one particular well-known supplier to their unbelievably cr*p service, I'd just like to say that it's a real breath of fresh air to have Mark responding and getting involved with this sort of issue. I appreciate that Michael (Linus27) hasn't got his strings yet, so nothing is "fixed", but I can't help but feel that this one is now more likely to have a happy ending. Just saying ... credit where it's due.
I hope so. The latest from GAK is estimated despatch being Wed 16th which I guess means I get them around Thu or Fri. Thats 4 to 5 days rather than the next day delivery they promised. I guess if no despatch by Wednesday then I will cancel.
Chuck 2 hour season premier details
I think those dates are in the US only. I hope not. So can't wait for season 3.
If you just want strings use should use Stringbusters or Strings Direct. They'll probably be cheaper & they both deliver really quickly. They're also really on the ball with having stock marked as available or not. GAK have got a bloody terrible reputation for not having things in stock when they're advertised as available on their website.
I went to them first but both places had them out of stock also. At least their website informed me they were out of stock unlike GAK.
-
And season 3 starts on January 10th.
No way. Is that definate? I thought they were still filming it?
I was about to agree with you - but got somewhat distracted by your new avatar :brow:
HEHEH I have Chuck Season 1 and 2 on DVD now so I am very distracted
-
Cancel your order. That's the most effective and direct way of showing your displeasure. S.P.
I am very very close to doing that as I needed the strings quite urgently and could pop to Andertons or Kingfishers to get them.
-
Don't you just hate it when you go to buy something online, and the store says it has the items in stock for next day delivery, to then receive an email a day later saying, they are waiting delivery of your item and as soon as they come in stock they will ship them out. I ordered a couple of sets of strings from GAK which said they are in stock and now they say they are waiting for them to come in stock. GGGRRRR I thought GAK were one of the better places. Whats even more annoying is they are still saying in stock on their website ggggrrrrr
Hmmm, well I'm still waiting for a refund from Bass Centre............... And there's me thinking they'd improved somewhat recently
Your signature sure looks different, FENDER, FENDER, FENDER :):) How's, the 51 coming along? I still not got my Warwick yet. Still being made in Germany However, I am really gassing for an olympic white Fender Precision with black scratchplate and rosewood neck. It would have to replace one of my existing basses and the only one that could be would be the 75 Jazz re-issue. Can you believe it -
It might just be that because you know the instrument so well you can easily get good tones out of it?
Maybe but I always run everything flat. Don't do anything to my amp and the bass has both volume dials on full and tone dial either on full treble or half way. I do this with all my basses. Everything run flat. I like it simple
I doubt it's down to the pickups...most Barts I've played sounded like crap. Or my definition of crap could be your definition of AWESOME. Does it have a preamp?
Nope 100% passive.

I have an old ESP 400 Series Jazz bass. I bought it new in 1989. It is modelled after a 1962 Fender Jazz and looks exactly the same as a Fender. Even the headstock is an exact copy. I changed the pickups in it from the stock ESP ones to Bartolini's way back around 1990. It is the best sounding bass I have ever heard. It blows away my Musicman Stingray, my Fender MIA 75 re-issue jazz, my old Lakland Darryl Jones, my old Lakland Duck Dunn and all the other basses I have owned. Others who have heard it say its my best sounding bass. The only other bass that has matched it in sounding so good was my old 1977 MIA Fender Precision. So my question is, is the amazing tone down to the construction of the bass and the wood or all down to the Bartolini Jazz pickups?
if only they were going to do a black or a burst one...if only... i just think the colours are a little miami vice pastel colours for my liking and not too sure about the white pups, but they still look amazing. Nice to see the birdeye necks again, they should have never stopped making them without them.
See what I posted above. It looks like at some point they will.

They said on the forum that they are going to rotate the colours every few months or so. So expect different ones popping up. That is unless they have changed their mind.

The bass I would love to get back is my Teal Green 3EQ Musicman Stingray. I bought it brand new from the Bass Centre in Wapping around 1998/99. However, around 2002 times were hard and I had to sell it. I so regret doing this as I had dreamed of getting a Stingray oneday and when I got my record deal, it was the first thing I bought. I know I sold it on Ebay to some chap and I had to drop it off at a flat in Kingston Upon Thames, near to a place called Ham just of the Richmond Road. I think the road was Northweald Lane. I don't think the guy lived there so it might had been his sisters or another family member. I keep meaning to go to the flat and see if the person is still there but I never get around to it.

Good luck and don't forget to let us know how it goes.
