1. I'll keep checking Ebay for you.
 2. I would love to replace Adam Clayton in U2, especially if we are talking about earlier stuff like the War/Unfogrttable Fire/Joshua Tree era. Replacing Derek Forbes in Simple Minds around the New Gold Dream/Sparkle In The Rain era would also be amazing. If forming a band, then probably, Bass - Me Drums - Either Stuart Copeland from the Police or Larry Mullen Jr from U2 Guitar - Slash from GnR Vocals - Layne Staley from Alice In Chains I think that would be an interesting mix
 3. I have never changed my battery either. I have had about 5 lessons, lasting about 2 hours each with the Stagg plugged in for all of it. Plus, playing at home which would amount to many hours. Maybe 20 hours in total. Maybe a little less or maybe a lot more and never changed the battery yet.
 4.
Correct, but as Merton has already pointed out it all depends on how far up you wind the volume control. You have control of the power control. Just because your Elise will do 100+, it doesn't mean you go everywhere at max power and max speed. Amps are no different.
Sorry, I don't understand that last bit about not going max power everywhere. Am I doing it wrong, I thought the the rule was to drive like it stole it with the arse hanging out Seriously, thanks for the help. I might get me an LG350 then as my main and use the MAG300H head as the backup. If I need more power later on which I guess I wont, then I will review the whole thing then. Thanks again.
 5.
I take it that both your cabs are 8-ohms. I've not had the chance to gig the LG1000 yet but will on Feb 5th at the Lion Brewery Jam in Ash where I will use it with two 8-ohm 1x12s. That should show up how it handles 2 x 8-ohm cabs instead of 2 x 4-ohm. I estimate the LG1000 should put out about 350-375 watts into 8-ohms. As far as your cabs go you would have lots of headroom but always with the risk of overdriving. The LG350 with 350-watts into 4-ohms would be a better match to your cabs.
So your saying that as both my cabs are 8 Ohms, if I ran them through the LG1000, I could use either one of the two 500 watt amps running at 4 OHMS getting the full 500 watts (maybe to much for my cabs) or both 500 watts amps at 8ohms getting about 350-375 watts. However, if I used the LG350 with my two 8 ohms cabs, they would run at 4 ohms giving me the full 350 watts from the LG350. Have I got that right??
 6. I've got an Ashdown MAG115 1x15 Deep Speaker Cab which has a power handling of 250 watts. I will be getting an Ashdown MAG210T 2 x 10 Deep Speaker Cab which has a power handling of 200 watts to go with it. Will the LG1000 be too powerful for these two cabs? Just wondering if its worth getting a LG350 as a spare head for my two cabs or get the LG1000 as my main head. No point getting the LG1000 if its to powerful for my cabs.
 7. Just learnt to play this, Phil Collins - Easy Lover on my new yummy Musicman Stingray. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=gfnXsXTOBs0&...re=channel_page Not sure to either learn Santana - Smooth (Ft. Rob Thomas), The Clash - Rock The Casbah or something completely different.
 8. What a stunning looking bass.
 9.
And then went to to place an Esprit S3 and an Esprit Turbo in Bond films.
... and the best I can think off regarding an Elise is it has been used by Girls Aloud in one of their videos. Not sure if thats good or bad :)
 10. I am thinking about changing my Elise for a Caterham someday as I prefer the front engine rear wheel drive config over the mid engine rear wheel drive of the Elise. Still, its more of a maybe as I would so miss my Elise. I want both is what I am trying to say.
 11. HAHAHA Lotus is not a car, its a way of life. Also known as a headache :)

 14.
I suppose you'd call it Rock covers - Thin Lizzy, G 'N' R, Dire Straits, Bon Jovi, Clapton, Chuck Berry, Quo, AC/DC, ZZ Top, Bryan Adams - all the usual suapects. Three of us are retired and the average age is 57.5, but that doesn't deter us.
Dad rock
 15.
My mate has an Elise & we were sitting in a traffic queue in Pompey when on old chap would down the window of his Jag & said 'my son desgined those' - my mate replied instantly with - 'tell him the f***ing roof leaks'. He didn't know what to say.
HAHAHA yep, they all do that. Mine leaks like a seive.
 16. What sort of music obbm??
 17. If you can get hold of a late eighties ESP 400 series Jazz then this has the thinest neck I have ever played.
 18.
I got in '87 after I sold the Ginetta G12 and used it occassionally however after a longish period of inactivity the clutch seized to the flywheel. None of the known techniques would free it and I concluded that it was going to be an engine-out job. What with work, house rebuilding, redundnacy, music, gas expenditure, and starting a business I never got round to it. I reasoned that if the engine is coming out (only done 45K from new, then I might as well have it rebuilt . In it's current state it has a low value but the value of the car running is about the same as the cost of the rebuild, so no point in doing anything at the moment. It can sit there until I pop my clogs and then my son can have the problem.
HAHAHA nice one. Still, I hope to see it on the road oneday. Shame to let it waste away. By the way, Lakeside Engineering near Addlestone are excellent Lotus guys. All Ex Bell and Colvill.
 19.
there were 2 elites the first one was the predecessor to the elan. and the one after the 7 I think
This is the Elite I know of. As for the other Elite, I always thought it was called the Eclat which is not surprising as they look identical. Elite Eclat
 20.
So we have some Lotus enthusiasts. I still have this one: Unfortunately it hasn't run for many years but one day it will go again. At least that's what I keep telling myself, and Mrs OBBM. Alternatively I'd consider swapping it for a pristine Frogeye Sprite or an early 60's Jazz.
Hey obbm, I would love to see that ruuning again, especially as your about 15 mins (10 in the Elise) down the road from me. Beautiful looking Esprit. What's up with her anyway?
 21.
I had a Lotus Elite 2.2 (the one like the Eclat). One of 173 made, which meant there were another 172 piles of unreliable sh*te taking periodic rests round the English countryside.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I had no idea they made the Elite as a 2 + 2, only the Elan.

 23.
I watched this when it was on TV a while back - and it did open my eyes to Beck's playing quite alot as I'm another one who normally associates him with Hi Ho Silver Lining! Back to Tal though - am I the only one who found the constantly smug look on her face annoying? peace c
Is this available to watch anywhere still??
 24.

My Elise, has mini metro wing mirrors, a cheap £5 rear view mirror, Renault gearbox, Rover engine, Vauxhall indicator stalks and Peugeot dash buttons. It's cheaper for me to run an Elise than it was my Renault Megane on service, parts, tax and fuel. Its just not as practical Anyway, we should get this back onto topic and away from cheap plastic sports cars :)
I used to have an original elan [JAP 4D] Unreliable as hell. but wonderfull, Mixture of bits of cars, mainly ford, hillman imp and others. Service every 3000 miles. twin weber carbs which never seemed to stay tuned, I used to carry a home made 1x15 where the passenger seat should go.
Cool stuff. The Elise reminds me a little of the original Elan. Lightweight, small, simple, heaps of fun.
 25.
