1.
Only one? Come on, take all of them! I have them going from #10 (or thereabouts) up to #249...that's from June 1964 to April 2007 (not really, it just seems that many). P
I only want one but not sure which one. I might be able to find out though. I will even give you a fiver for it and collect if your in Crowthorne still.
 2. I had some superb basses. A Musicman 3 EQ, a 1976 Fender Precision, a 1973 Fender Telecaster bass and an ESP 400 Jazz bass. Ended up selling all but the ESP as my band had ended, we had no record deal, I was fed up with the music industry and I needed money. Biggest regret is selling my Musicman as it was the nicest bass to play. Did not sound the best, that was the Fender Precision which I recorded most the album with but the Musicman had something special and I miss it like crazy. Now move on 7 years and I now have an amazing Squire Vintage Modified Fretless Jazz which plays as nice as my Musicman did and sounds superb. I also have a Stagg EUB which is wonderful. Plus I have my ESP still which is a wonderful bass. However, not a day passes where I wish I had my Musicman and I can't shake that monkey off my back. So I have decided that I am going to buy one. Its bugging me to much and I need to get rid of this guilt. Its just a case of deciding to get a Trans Teal like I used to own or go for a newer colour.
 3. We have done some great gigs with some total arseholes. Jocasta were one band who were total tossers. Turned up late, did not speak to us, took the piss with soundcheck and stage space. However, as it was our local venue, we had all our fans with us and knew the sound guy. We had a full venue for us and Jocaasta had an empty venue hehehehe. Miserable gits before the gig and miserable gits after the gig. On the other hand, we met some great bands/musicians on our travels. Twister, Keeler, Samurai 7 to name a few. In fact most if not all big name artists were friendly. It seemed more of the up and coming bands who seemed to develop an arsehole attitude. We were no angels though and did steal Sidi Bou Said beer rider at the Allycat in Reading :) I'm sure somebody somewhere is saying we were arseholes.
 4. WOW, scary stuff but very pleased you are ok. I have played bass for around 20 years, 10 of those years giging and I have never owned an RCD. Very scary thinking about some of the dodgy venues I have played in. I think its now time to buy one. I never liked doing backing vocals so this could be a good excuse to not do them
 5.
Should bump it up a bit yeah. Why you ask? Got your eye on one?
I am looking for one to buy and looking at all my options. How much would a year old Trans Teal 3 eq be worth?
 6. Would these prices be correct if the Black Cherry Burst or Pacific Blue Burt had matching coloured heads or would this bump the price up a little more?
 7. How much would a mint condition 2004/5 4 string 3eq Musicman be worth secondhand? Colour is probably Pacific Blue Burst, Black Cherry Burst or one of the translucent Teal or Red colours?? Thanks
 8.
I LOVE THIS BASS. TBH, I dont really want rid of it. I havent played a 'Ray like it before or since. But, its either I get rid of this or the Flea bass, and im quite fond of the Flea. Its STUPIDLY light. I sware its made of feathers. the tone on it is fantastic, ive played a fair few 'rays in my time and I cant find another thats been anywhere neer as good. A fair few of you have played it and said if I ever want rid of it give you a shout. well, here we are. If I get a good enough offer on it, it'll go. Its got a musicman hardcase, strung with Elixirs, no scratch's or dings. 2007 model, originally bought from ChrisDaBass (who can vouch for how nice this really is)
Do you have any more pictures, including headstock and close up of the body. Any, rough price range would help.

Reply if you're interested! Cheers P
Do you have the dates of the Q magazines? I am looking for one from 2000.
 11. I'm sure £200 is a bit steep. I think you can buy them new for that.
 12. Just want to add theat I have one of these basses and they are superb. My previous basses have been a Musicman Stingray, 1977 Fender Precision, 1973 Telecaster bass and this Squire Vintage Fretless is probably my favourite or equal favourite to the Musicman. I am so impressed with mine that I am looking at getting the Squire Vintage Modified Jazz. I just hope its just as good as this fretless. If anyone wants a great fretless bass, then you really can't go wrong with this.
 13. My GAS is killing me at the moment. It's a simple GAS aswell. All I want is a Musicman Stingray in either Black Cherryburst or Pacific Blueburst with maple neck. Failing that, Teal with maple neck would do. I would sooner have 2EQ but would settle for 3EQ. Second hand they go from £600 to £800. Not a lot of money but money I just don't have at the moment. One day maybe.
 14. Hey, there is a Stagg EUB for sale in the For Sale section. Grab it before it goes and it will sell very quickly. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=21139
 15.
I have a suspicion that those who make this claim are playing the NS Wav in "pizz" mode, which is designed to sound like a big fretless bass. With the pickup switch in "arco" mode it sounds more like a real DB, even when plucked. I have some examples here; http://www.jenniferclarkbass.com/audio/Leana_Medley.mp3 http://www.jenniferclarkbass.com/audio/BassSolo.mp3 Those recordings were straight DI'd from the instrument. I've had the better results through Trace Elliot amps and speakers, where in certain situations you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference between the WAV and an amplified real DB. I've played both the NS and the Stagg, and in my opinion the NS is the better instrument in most respects by a significant margin; however, for the price, the Stagg is exceptional value. Jennifer
Hi Jennifer, hope you didn't think I was saying the Stagg is better than the NS Wav?? I was just saying that as an entry model to try the world of EUB, the Stagg is ideal as its so much cheaper than the Stagg. However, not sure I would agree on the sound. After reading through the massive thread over at Talk Bass and hearing in person some NS Wav's, there does seem to be a general feeling that the stock NS Wav sounds similar to a fretless. However, changing the strings I beleive can improve on this. As a point, when I can afford it, I will probably move up to an NS Wav from my Stagg.
 16. Well I tried an Alesis SR16 at Andertons and I was a little disapointed. The guy in Andertons was as useless as possible because I was not interested in spending £250 on the latest model of drum machine. So he was not interested in showing me the Alesis SR16 but he did show me how to scoll through the drum patterns and then just walked away So I had a play but I just found the machine to limited. It only had about 4 jazz beats and lots of rock beats. I guess I could programme some but at this stage I wanted to avoid this. Thanks for the help so far but I think I am going to keep looking. I may just go with a metronome at the moment as something to play along to.
 17. The West End Centre in Aldershot might be a good place. I have done lots of gigs there and they have lots of rooms or areas. They also have a bar, lots of parking out the back and close to a mainline train station. If I am free I might be able to make it. I could bring my Stagg EUB along.
 18. I can't recommend the Stagg highly enough and I am sure others on here will feel the same. I have wanted to dip my toes in the world of EUB for the last 10 years or so but they have always been to expensive. Then the NS Wav 4 came out and it looked like a realistic option at £700 so I started saving up for a year. However, I heard about this Stagg EUB that came out at £350 and one came up for sale on here for £200 and I grabbed it. For the money, it is an amazing piece of kit. You really can't fault it for that price. It also sounds superb, some say more like a double bass than the NS Wav 4 which has been compared to sounding like like a electric fretless. The action may be a little high but this can be solved by filing away at the nut a little so the strings sit lower down. I had to do this a fair bit to my E and A string and now it is a dream to play. Also, some of the intonation cane be a bit out but once you learn where the correct places to fret are, then it makes no difference. It certainly has not been a problem for me. I also recommend lessons to get you heading in the right direction. I have been playing electric for 20 years and it is a totally different beast. jakesbass on here will sort you with lessons. Drop him a PM. I am sure he will be able to help you out or point you in the right direction. Either, way just do it. One of the best things I have ever done. Get yourself a Stagg EUB, get some lessons so you have something to work towards and your love every minute of it.
 19.
BUMP would anybody be interested in this for 150 without the upgrades? cheers
Do you now have the original pick-ups?? You said earlier that you didn't. Just working out if you mean original as in bridge but still the EMG's or the original bridge and pickups??
 20. Have to say, I totally agree with everything Terry says. I think I am on my 4th or 5th lesson with Jake next week and I have enjoyed every one of them.
 21.
Bass player wanted for U2 tribute act TRIBU2E. Ideally based around the Exeter area. please email for details. [email protected] call - 01392 675488 www.myspace.com/tribu2e
Bugger, I grew up playing U2 and I can play them like the back of my hand. Here is a You Tube clip of me playing New Years Day, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCe2fba51EY Such a shame I am so far away as I would jump at the chance of doing this.
 22.
You could do it. Adam Clayton has the easiest job in the band.. i hope he come on here and tells me different.
I could tell you a few things about Adam Clayton as the engineer who worked on U2's Joshua Tree album produced my old bands album. Believe me, he makes wht he does look very simple and it is strangely harder than it looks. It may be simple but I doubt many are as tight and in time as Adam.

Yes got your PM about the Tripod. Thanks very much for that. Thanks also for the photos.
