  1. I was told my Limelight will be ready in 12 - 16 weeks. This Monday is 12 weeks so I guess anytime now I might get the call 😁😁 I don't think I've been so excited about getting a bass. Just so itching to see it 😊
  2. I've got a right mixed bag at the moment. Hartke amp, Epifani cab and Fender basses so America for those items. I then have an Ashdown valve amp, cab and back up amp head so good old British. I then have two Kala Uku basses so American for them. I love my main rig but if I do replace it then I'll probably go Ashdown.
  3. I'd like to see Sting's Fretless Precision with the maple board.
  4. Line 6 G30 here and it's been brilliant. Feels a little cheap but they are not expensive so can't expect everything. Only issue I ever had is our two guitarists use them as well but one of them is an older version. Sometimes, if he is standing near my receiver which is on top of my amp it cuts mine out so must be some interference thing. We've tried changing all my channels but it still does it. Looking at the manual it does say something about older models may cause interference. Apart from that it has been brilliant and about 150 gigs so far I'm very happy.
  5. Most of my gigs are clubs and some pubs so a RM should be fine. The prices look great as well. I'd probably look to get two 12's and the RM 500. I do like the look of the Fender Rumble 800HD and the Fender Rumble 2x10 700w cab. Just thinking the two 12's might have more headroom and fill the room better. The 2x10 might be a bit thin. All of this is assumption of course.
  6. I actually like the Ashdown stuff. I have had ABM stuff in the past and it was great but heavy. My practise rig at home is a 1x10 MiBass speaker and a CTM15 and it is absolutely gorgeous. Will go check out the RM stuff.
  7. Interesting you mention a 2x10. I've just seen Fender do a 700 watt 2x10. Pair that with the new Rumble 800 head and it might make a nice little rig.
  8. My current rig is a Hartke HA5500 and Epifani 310UL and it sounds amazing. I have no complaints with the tone, I love the old school Hartke head and I've not done a single gig where I have not liked the tone. It's big, fat, punchy and clean. Both my Jazz and Precision basses sound great through it as well. However, what I don't like is the overall footprint. The 310UL is not heavy but it's big and bulky and the Hartke head is not only big, it's really heavy. My previous rig was a MarkBass LM3 and 2 x NY121 cabs and it was so convenient to carry a cab each in one hand and a gig bag over my shoulder. I could get everything in a boot of a saloon where as I now need an estate car to lug my current rig to gigs. I really miss the portability of my old rig but what I don't miss is the tone. I never liked the tone I got out of my MarkBass rig, it always seemed soulless, sounded generic and some gigs it was hit or miss if I got a good tone or not. So I'm looking at downsizing and have read good things about the Ampeg Portaflex PF800 and the revised PF500 heads. Pairing it with a couple of Ampeg PF112HLF cabs as well. I know it's a bit mad to go from a rig that sounds great but it seems this Ampeg setup might be a good solid working rig. I play 50's and 60's Rock n Roll so it should suit for some old school bass. I'll be honest in not being a fan of Class D amps and never totally happy with the 3 or 4 I've owned so I'm cautious to go back again but what I've seen and heard of the Portaflex stuff seems good, especially the Ed Freidland review. Plus, the prices don't seem to bad compared to other stuff. Am I mad to do this, any thoughts, happy to be told I'm a fool 😁
  9. Yep, couldn't spot myself but I had traits of No.1, No.10 and No.12.
  10. What's the difference between the Sub Ray 4 and the Ray 4? Is the Sub an old model that's been replaced by the Ray 4?
  11. Very sorry to read this. Thoughts are with his family and friends. R.I.P Gary.
  12. I had that this weekend. 75RIAV Jazz has been uninspiring and dull. New strings and its hello, this sounds lovely 😊
  13. They haven't made them for ages, they churn out the same as this thread shows. When did Fender last release an unlined fretless standard Jazz or Precision let alone a fretless maple necked bass. An American stack knob Jazz or American 51 Precision as well, it's been donkeys years.
  14. I so despair at Fender and I love them, its all I play but why oh why do they not do anything different or exciting. If this was me, I would be releasing the following, An American Vintage 51 Precision in some nice retro pastel colours An American Vintage Stack Knob 60's Jazz A Mexican or Japanese FSR unlined fretless Vintage 70's Precision in natural with maple board A Mexican or Japanese FSR Vintage 70's Telecaster bass An unlined fretless modern Precision with rosewood board. An unlined fretless modern Jazz with rosewood board
