    Wow, an SS1 for £430. Thats amazing although I got my Streamer LX Jazzman for £500 which is a bargain. An SS1 though is just crazy.

    [b]NOW WITHDRAWN - May consider new trades in the future.[/b] Up for trade or sale is my mint condition MIA Fender Jazz in Olympic white with rosewood neck and tort scratchplate. I bought it brand new from Bass Merchant in May this year so it is in mint condition. I have only used it once at an acoustic gig and the rest at home. It comes complete with the Fender hardcase, tools, tags, owners manual, strap, lead, cloth etc. In fact the accessories bag has not even been opened. The reason I am parting with it is I simply have no use for it as I play my Precision these days. As for trade I am looking for a Warwick Streamer SS1 in natural, a Warwick Streamer LX Jazzman, a Warwick Streamer LX in natural plus cash my way or possibly a Musicman Stingray in natural with maple neck. Let me know what you have and we can go from there. If for sale, then I have been told that around £850 would be about right so something around there would suit me. I am in Surrey so any trial/inspection is welcome. Please find below some pictures. If you require any others then just ask.

[/quote] Yep have to agree also. In fact, the rubber on mine has started to split and crack which is very poor considering it less than a year old. I hope the rubber bit is just covering a more stable strap inside. Otherwise, if it snaps then I could be in for a bit of bother and pain if it falls on my foot or something.

[/quote] Not overly worried as I have a couple of workhorses (Precision and Fretless Jazz) that still sounds like me as the tone is in the fingers or so I am told My other basses are just my bit of fun at home or when I want a bit of variety. Also, nothing wrong with changing your tone from time to time. I am going down the Warwick route at the moment and it compliments by normal tone. Still sounds like me just a bit different I guess or not as the case may be

    Ah ok, thank you. I was under the impression that the higher the action, the less mwah and sustain. Am I right that if you go too low, the string can become choked and lose sustain?

    I have a brand new 4 string MIA Fender Jazz in olympic white. I have only had it a couple of months and has only been used for 1 acoustic gig and the rest at home so it is in mint condition. What do you think I should get for it if I sell it? I was thinking somewhere between £800 - £900. Is this a fair price? The reason I want to sell it is I have fallen in love with Warwicks and really fancy a Streamer. It seems that the SS1's are going for about £800 - £1000 so that would work out with maybe a little cash from me. However, I do have my heart set on a Streamer LX or Streamer Jazzman which do seem to be a lot less. Any ideas on what sort of value the Streamer LX and Streamer Jazzman seem to be at the moment. I was maybe think somewhere between £450 - £600. Would you say this is about right?

    I have three fretless basses, an ESP Jazz, a Stingray and now a Warwick Streamer LX Jazzman. All three have roundwound strings and are played pretty much with flat settings. My ESP 400 Series Jazz sounds totally amazing. Tones of mwah, sustain, vibrato and the full fretless thing down to a tee. The Stingray also sounds great and as a fretless should. My Warwick on the other hand has no mwah what so ever but sounds great but just like a fretted bass. Even if I try to accentuate some vibrato, not a lot happens. Sliding up and down to notes is also so very subtle. Don't get me wrong, the bass sounds totally amazing with lots of punch and growl as Warwicks do but it sounds just like a fretted bass, its so very weird. Is this normal for a Warwick or for some fretless basses? Would different strings make a big difference? I could possibly post some sound clips to show the difference.

    I prefered Pearl Jam over Nirvana and the whole grunge thing. I liked grunge but found it all a bit noisy and messy. Pearl Jam seemed more mature and a bit more detached from the whole grunge thing. There songwritting is far more mature and skilled. They only got labelled grunge because they came from Seattle but in all honesty, Seatle had such a big music scene at the time that any band that came from Seattle at the time got labelled grunge. I nearly recorded my old bands first album at the London Bridge Studio is Seatle with Rick Parashar who produced Pearl Jam's "Ten" album. Despite it being very tempting to go to Seatle for three months to record our the first album, we decided as a band that it would not be wise to send a very green band all the way to a strange country to record their first album. We also wanted to record in the UK and retain an English sound rather than end up sounding very american. I think it was the right decision but looking back it would had been one hell of an experience.
