1. Maybe we should all email him and wind him up and see how low we can et him to drop it. Will he take $100 maybe for his thin air
  2.
+1 The grey is a real "marmite" colour. T
Grey will never go out of fashion as its never been in fashion hahahaha
  3. Mmmm interesting. Not so keen on the two colours of the skyline but maybe there will be more options.
  4.
Comparing amp's loudness at equal gain & volume settings is utterly futile - whichever has the greatest dB gain at that setting will win, not the one with the most power. By that method every old TE amp was way louder than my old SWR/QSC rack - but push both to clipping (which required much more knob turning on the rack) and the 3000W rack rig unsurprisingly left the 300W TE amp in the dust. A Shuttle 9.0 is only 1.8dB more powerful than a Shuttle 6.0 - which is only a slight amount. It isn't like going from 50W to 350W, it's like going from 50W to 75W. So if the Reidmar is an honest 250W it won't be much quieter than the other more powerful micro-amps, especially if their ratings are less honest.
Alex, I am so glad you joined this thread. I had a Shuttle 6 and moved up to a shuttle 9 and it really did not seem that much louder. Certainly not the massive just I was expecting so your explanation has cleared up why that was. I was speaking to EBS about the Reidmar and they said it does not automatically limit the signal anywhere before the power amp which gives more headroom and preserved definition of tone even at high volumes, where as other class D amps feature a built in limiter that reduce dynamics and limits and level out the low end at high volume, which makes the tone lose definiton - only to prevent the power amp from clipping.
  5. I find that with my MarkBass 121H combo that I can just run pretty much any bass flat. The thing I dial to about 11 o clock is the low mids. I never touch the filters as it sounds good flat.
  6.
:-) You're welcome to borrow it if you wanted to try it out.
HEHE that sounds cool although I must give your your pedal back also. Would be interesting to hear how it sounds next to a LMIII head.
  7. The thing I liked about The Holy Bible was it was just so dark, gritty and clunky.
  8. Cool. Stuff. Let me know when your next gig is so I can kidnapp you and your amp head
  9. Blimey Dave, I never knew you had the F1 in red. Uber jealous now Never knew you had an Epi either. I thought you had a Schroder
  10. I bought an EBS Classic Session 60 and it really is amazing. Very loud with a wonderful deep thumpy sound. Not boxy at all like a lot of combos. Well worth getting one if anyone is thinking about it.
  11.
I was initially going to go for two 110's but they only had one in stock so went for one of each. Im pretty happy I did actually, they sound really good together and are both great on their own so if your really tight on space, the extra inch on the 110 can make a difference!!
So whats the difference tonally between the 10" speaker and the 12" speaker?
  12.
Had an awesome weekend of gigging. Used my EBS Reidmar with just a single 1x10 for both shows and it sounded fantastic with no pa support. Happy days
This EBS stuff is on my list of buys. Just not sure to go for 2 x Classic 110 or 2 x Classic 112.
  13. Great news, I can now spend more money
  14. If I was in the OP shoes I would be looking at doing media and business degree's. All those skills are transferable and probably more usefull in the real world when getting a job. I would then study music in my own time and play in lots of bands to gain experience and then let life sort out the rest.
  15.
This..................... as it is, neither do anything for me.
Yes agree to this and the only reason why I would not buy one.
  16. Yep, this play is uber cool. Long may it continue.
  17.
Thanks so far. Do you think the EBS 60 is better than the Roland Cube 60?
I have not tried the Roland Cube although they do get good to mixed reviews. All I can say is the EBS Classic 60 is awsome.
  18.
From last night, rehearsing a work-in-progress original. Much confusion over the sequence of sections (instrumental chorus, "the bit where it goes to D", etc etc). After the third attempt where all five us seem to think something different is supposed to happen, I suggest that we get a piece of paper and write it down. The guitarist says, "Don't write it down... I won't read it."
GGGRRRRR I would of had to say something scarcastic after that like "I will only use small words so you can understand"
  19. I have the EBS Classic 60 combo and it is amazing. You can get any tone you want from it, deep, thumpy bass or clear and crisp. Plus its very very loud for a 60 watt combo. I use it for rehearsals and my MarkBass combo for gigs. However, I am so impressed with the EBS stuff and to the guys at EBS who I have been chatting with that I am ditching the MarkBass gear in the new year and getting an EBS Reidmar 250 and 2 x Classic 112 cabs. The Classic 60 is certainly the best combo around.
Thought so. It may have just been at the mercy of the eliments then. A luthier might have been able to fix it by (re)sealing it in properly. But it's neither hear nor there now you got it sorted.
Yeah true but as it was a brand new bass thankfully Musicman/S&T jumped on it right away and sorted it.
Out of interest was it an unfinished (ie. no varnish on the rear) neck?
Yes, unfinished.

I bought a brand new 3EQ Stingray back in 1998 and the neck would never settle. It would constantly be going out of tune and was just unplayable. I contacted Musicman who asked me to take it to Strings and Things. They looked at it and said the maple was too soft and just replaced the neck there and then. Never had a problem since.
  23. There is a very worrying silence from Gareth.
  24.
Tbh there is no harm in being a (polite, to start with) pain in the a&*e and it's often the best way, especially at a busy time like the lead-up to Christmas. I'd be nagging them daily at this point.
+1
  25.
better still THANKS F//CK FOR THAT!
HAHAHAHAHA
