Nothing wrong with that, enjoyed it. Some mates having a blast and playing pretty darn tastily. No one here ever play a cover version of a song that's not been quite as good as the original or what?

That solo you take on the live version of Yo-Yo is still one of the best I've ever heard. Both melodic AND thunderous. Plus it keeps everyone dancing! Just completed another great deal with Geoff, selling the bass I bought from him earlier this year back to him. Funny old Basschat He paid instantly and, as before, was an absolute star to deal with. Great comms, friendly and a credit to the forum. Cor, I was only thinking the same myself earlier. I found an old live tape this morning and had it on in my van today. Great gig! His bass tone there is as good as it gets in my opinion.

**the price is actually £85 - the £87 above is actually a typo I can't seem to correct.. that's late night posting for you! ** I traded this V4 with Geoff Randombass earlier this year, but unfortunately it never sees any use as I also have a Sims Pbass that gets all the attention so I'm just going to sell this on now. Comes with Wilkinson pickups (which sound great and are lacking nothing - they sound a bit hot if anything) Vintage (as in old style) spec Wilkinson tuners which are always precise and bloody bulletproof to be fair! Vintage (again as in old style) spec bridge with brass saddles. Although used, this bass has no dings or any wear of note and plays really well. It sounds like a good P should and even acoustically it has a quality tone. It also has one of the most comfortable neck shapes I've played on a P, not too wide and not too deep but enough mass to resonate nicely. As you can probably tell I really like this bass! I'm really a fan of Vintage basses and what they offer (I used to own their version of the Jaco reliced fretless J bass which was another killer bass for the money). This isn't like buying a Squier in the same price range where you end up wanting to upgrade the tuners, then the pickups etc etc.. These Vintages are good to go solid workable basses. They just don't have an "F" printed anywhere on them and that will always keep their price down. This V4 comes without a case but will be packed very securely. £85 picked up in the Cardiff area or £100 couriered in mainland Britain via Interparcel. Cheers for looking, Si.

I bought this bridge for a project bass which never came to fruition. It is brand new, never used and comes in it's box with the lil packet of screws and allen key (unopened) A perfect for Fender 19mm string spacing, brass saddles (which are nickel plated) £26 posted

Yep, that's pretty darn filthy sounding! Think you're right that she's in BEAD and it does sound like a regular Precision too. Her strings look like the bottom 4 from a 5 string set to me. Really enjoyed that Wot, thanks so much for posting (going to check those guys out further too!) -
Hey everybody. I'm considering tuning my Pbass to BEAD tuning, or possibly CFBbEb I've a vintage spec split P pickup in it at the mo but I'm wondering if it will be up to the job. On a budget right now so can't go buying new pickups really and don't want to spoil my bass! I've been messing around on our old piano and been loving coming up with stuff down the 'dark end' and want that range on my 4 string (love my P and can't afford even a cheap 5 string right now) So, anyone here had any success tuning down so low without installing say a Model P or a SD Quarterpounder or something equally beefy?

I fancied doing the same thing to a Squier Classic Vibe 50's P, with a push/pull pot for series/parallel. A jazz sounds fat and even more growly in series so I bet one of these would sound immense!

This thread has prompted me to dig out BB after not really getting on with it many years ago just to see. To me now it sounds rather like melodic and instrumental fragments from In A Silent Way trying to fight for their place within a fox hunt. To a shuffle beat. Some of it I like, some of it makes my teeth sweat to be honest.

Wow! The all black no-nonsense look here is exactly what I have often dreamed about when the day comes when I can actually afford to put in my own order to Wal (It's way up there on the bucket list) Sadly that day is not today. I don't blame you for increasing the price as what you have it listed for now is pretty much what you'll pay for a new one with these specs but without the 17 month wait. I expect a serious Wal shopper will show up soon rubbing his/her hands together with glee at the chance to not wait a year and a half for one. Best of luck with the sale of this stunning bass.
