  1. Charles Mingus on Haitian Fight song. Upright and guts. Probably the best choice for living on a desert island too 😄
  2. Not sure if this qualifies as whacky but it makes me laugh 😄
  3. That is straight up amazing! Fair play to the chap. The stuff of dreams.
  4. You must have some real players in your band. That's very cool! It was Tom Fowler who broke his hand. He's the bass player on the live "Roxy..." album I posted above. Listen to it and imagine your mate depping with that band for a night 😂 He must be a great reader! Thanks, Si
  5. This whole album, but especially "Echidna's Arf (Of You)/Don't You Ever Wash That Thing", followed by "Cheepnis". There's also 120+ other albums by Frank that are full of whacky excellence 😁
  6. Best P bass neck profile (to me). B width at the nut, rest of it chunky as 👌. Great sound due to the heavy Ash body but too heavy for me to live with one unfortunately.
  7. Batteries Not Included - Andy Kemp
  8. Ode to Gordon - Thomas and Friends
  9. Colon In The Name Of - RATM
  10. Sire Marcus Miller. I bet he doesn't even know about half of them..
  11. Sentenced to Death - Colossal Trailer Music
  12. The Shoes of the Fisherman's Wife Are Some Jive Ass Slippers - Charles Mingus
  13. Jesse Wood's band once supported a band I used to be in. (Ronnie Wood's son, now in Reef I think).
  14. Midlife Crisis - Faith No More
  15. Just had a good laugh at myself and gained some perspective after reading this... If I was into cricket then I'd probably be sheepishly admitting that I don't even play for a club anymore, whilst staring at a wall full of bats that I keep hoovering up from the for sale section of BatChat.
  16. When I played in a regularly gigging band I had one Jazz bass and an upright. Now I'm not in a band I've got 6 bass guitars (plus the upright) and I hardly play any of them. I've definitely been compensating. Like a fool.
  17. Airwolf parked up just out of shot.
  18. Waking Up - Elastica
  19. Shaft - Isaac Hayes
  20. Friday Night, Saturday Morning - The Specials
  21. Fender if you need that aesthetic for a band - the deluxes are great. Sandbergs are better thought out instruments that are superior in quality, nicer to play and more useful tools for the job. Imho. Great music can be played on either of course!
  22. New York City Cops - The Strokes
  23. Cygnus x-1 - Rush (Spageddy Lee 😉)
  24. You're a lucky man Blue. This scenario would be the only way I could ever be in a band again. Not needing to socialise with mental creatives or being dragged into their chaotic lives sounds ideal! Been there, done that, but I'm 51 and a family first guy now.
