  1. I like the 'Ray looking model. The body has some Wal MKII to it too.
  2. Oops Up Side Your Head - The Gap Band *for those who remember ye olde Saturday morning telly 👆
  3. Regarding the original post - It's not that I was ready to give up, I just noticed that I had one day. Busy family life and a back injury meant that bass had drifted out of the picture. Sold some gear to spend money on the house. No band, and pretty much zero social life meant that I just wasn't drawn to play my basses, as bass playing was always a social sport for me. I defo noticed my mental health suffered as a result too. Now I have an Irish tenor banjo that I can't wait to get home and play everyday. It's made me as excited to play again in the way bass made me feel as a kid! As long as we keep the basic enthusiasm for playing music, we will always be alright. It doesn't have to be bass. It will be all about the bass again sometime, of that I have no doubt. But right now I'm so happy to have a change.
  4. First it giveth then it taketh away.
  5. Knowing Me, Knowing You... A-HA! - Alan Partridge
  6. Drop B just means that the guitarists will drop their lowest string down to a low B. You don't have to, as you know, because you already have a low B. Have fun!
  7. You don't. You've already got a low B string.
  8. Higher Than The Sun - Primal Scream
  9. Frickin' amazing 😗👌
  10. But the neck is a Fender. Get a Squier decal for the body 😉
  11. Maternal Blame - My Therapist (sorry, wrong thread...)
  12. Looks like the neck just needs a loosen and a little pull to the left. I've had good luck with off looking bridges by loosening them a bit and giving them a little turn to straighten them too. There's always a bit of wiggle room 😉
  13. Territorial Pistachios - Nirvana
  14. Weird? Depends who's using them I suppose. Once they're dialled in with the band/room they can be a real inspiration.
  15. Luthier tools to do my own fretwork etc.. Would pay for itself eventually!
  16. You Must Meet My Wife - David Kernan and Millicent Martin
  17. Not Motown, but James Jamerson played bass on this: So simple, so clever...
  18. Should've Listened - Nickelback
  19. Heed this warning. Between the two basses you've mentioned, you have it all covered really. Why not deep dive into some new styles of music, ways of thinking about bass playing and spend time, not money, developing your skills, ear and overall ability? Everyday is a school day, whoever you are! My advice is to ignore the shiny material things and polish up yourself instead. I say this as much to myself as to you, so it is said sincerely with only good intentions. Have fun!
  20. Don't Let Me Down Gently
  21. Nice idea, but musicians? £1.20 pasty and a busk outside Gregg's is more realistic.
  22. Ocean Dad Scene Dad Weller
  23. The Dad Seeds
