  1. Now you're talking. Let 'em have it!
  2. Always happy to help a bass brother get back on his feet... All the best @lee650 onwards and upwards mate 👊
  3. My dad saw this at the car boot yesterday and rang me to see if I wanted it. Unfortunately he couldn't work out how to take a photo or send it to me 😄 Apparently the guy selling said it belongs to his son who plays guitar all over the world, and the bass had been in his attic for 25 years. There's no serial numbers on it. I said it sounds like it's just been nicked off someone in Rhyl so I passed! *edit - of course the story might be true, but over the phone it sounded fishy. The guy wanted £200 for it btw @AndyTravis
  4. Love this. Brian "goofing around" during the Pet Sounds sessions. Didn't even make the original album. I am a sucker for trombones farting out though 😄
  5. I initially didn't post because it kind of feels like I've lost a lost family member in a way. It's beyond usual words. Just been paying my own private respects, celebrating his work and a lifetime of my personal memories attached to it.
  6. No, they already have all the Mordor you need at just the turn of a dial 😄
  7. Today I finished a good mod, fix and fettle job on my Squier Sonic P. It's now sporting a Lollar P pickup, new wiring harness and a set of Dunlop Super Bright steels. I've honestly just been laughing my head off it sounds so good now. So knarley and expressive. Sorry just had to share. I'm smitten!
  8. Rub some moisturiser on your hands and before the cream is fully absorbed, rub your hands over your strings. That'll get you there.
  9. Roger Walters? I think he's Julie's estranged brother. Used to be a good brickie back in the day, eventually got sacked for tearing down the wall.
  10. Same. I think the video still holds up today too.
  11. The fingerboard dots look like they've filled the holes with woodfiller to match the body finish.
  12. Wow that Fender app and input device look great. Less faff wins everytime for me!
  13. Audio Evolution was the best when I used it a few years ago. I used it to edit together the music for a school concert I was involved in. User friendly and good quality, probably even better now. https://www.extreamsd.com/
  14. Business must be slow because flatwounds are really popular again 😆
  15. That looks very nice. Neck just needs squirrelling to the right a bit to line everything up!
  16. Nice! What are it's specs? Interested to learn how it's so light. Looks ace.
  17. Thankfully he was saved by the funk. "Free Your Mind And Your A$$ Will Follow..." ✊️
  18. A method I find useful is to listen to the tracks without a bass in hand and once familiar to what's going on in the tune, "sing" or scat along a bass part. It's more freeing, intuitive and rarely wrong. When you feel like you're finding you're way, record yourself doing this along with the track, then learn what you've sung. If you can sing it you can play it.
  19. First gig at sixteen, playing a fiver and on the mic (singing?)...🤯 ...and the world was hers.
  20. Those that have a Palmaris Longus tendon are more prone to Carpel Tunnel Syndrome.
  21. Tim Commerford from RATM likes Jazz basses with Precision necks. He winds his own pickups for them too. Respec'!
  22. I disagree. I saw the Stone Roses at Heaton Park in 2012 and they had the balloted area then. Although I didn't get into the front bit I was still plenty close enough. Dividing the front area off with another barrier was a smart move to stop anyone getting crushed up front. Even more so for Oasis. The media will write about anything to give it the doom angle. My tuppence worth anyway...
  23. Good choice of bass @nilorius 👍
  24. It's funny because it's not a motorbike. Yamaha and that...
