  1. The Music Lesson - Victor Wooten. A bit like The Way Of The Peaceful Warrior but about music/bass. I really enjoyed it when I read it on my hols.
  2. As long as time given for the Tru-oil to dry off fully, then yes. It's essentially poly on poly at that point.
  3. Inca Silver is a great 'Ray colour...
  4. Nowt like a gnarly knurled knob.
  5. That's the place I bought the 1965 P I had for a while from. Good experience, good people to deal with.
  6. For 2k I'd rather buy a new one and sleep soundly.
  7. Yes, 1.5" at the nut is Jazz size. It's very comfy to play ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
  8. Squier Sonic P. I have one. ยฃ150 of awesome ๐Ÿ‘Œ Ok, I installed a Lollar P pickup because I already had one but it was fine enough stock tbh. So on paper that's ยฃ300 of awesome that now sounds as good as any P out there imho.
  9. Hats off to Ozzy, he never half-arsed anything. Including his exit. Respect ๐Ÿซก๐Ÿค˜x
  10. Indeed. I wasn't looking to buy btw. At the time I'd been looking at the new 4005v basses and that ebay pic/ad popped up. I could see it was a real Ric being passed off as a bass you'd get from the "maker", and it took all of 2 mins to find where they had lifted the photo from. I cheekily asked the "maker" for pics of other colours they do and got this reply: "Hello, friend The actual guitar you receive is same to the photo we listed.if you are interested, you can make an order.Thank you" Nope.
  11. Was that always a natural finish? It looks like a 'Ray I had modded in the 90s but mine was a translucent red 2 band, side jack added when the J pup was installed. Considering how often I look online at basses, it kind of surprises me that I've never seen it again. Great bass t'was...
  12. Good luck Andy and well done. When the faff outweighs the fun it's no longer worth your time. Enjoy your new venture. It's actually gift to find yourself in a position where you can play whatever you want whenever you want, plus you don't really need much gear to enjoy simply playing music. Lose the baggage ๐Ÿ‘ (Regarding singing - I hear you! I have a plan to get a couple of singing lessons with a good teacher to at least find where my voice sits and how to engage it correctly. How to warm up etc.. It's never too late, keep on growing).
  13. I looked into it and there are other sellers over there with the same ads and pictures, there's even a very real stolen Stingray 5 pic (logo and all) and more. It's a deep scam that looks tightly sewn up. I guess it's just buyer beware at the end of the day.
  14. The ebay pics have a DH Gate watermark, so either "Crazy Guitar World" is affiliated with them, or someone stole the pics that DH Gate stole. Don't be crazy, don't shop there!
  15. No opens on mine OK. Screenshots for anyone who can't....

  17. I've been down this road and my advice is don't. Just buy a P bass.
  18. Is it one of these? Harvest Green? Looks a blummin lovely colour that! Nice nice bass. I see they come with a noiseless J pickup. Might want to factor that in if you replace them as you might not enjoy the hum off a single coil. As has been mentioned, maybe try lowering the pickups you do have (if you haven't already). You might find the passive beef and sweetness you're after if you wind them down a bit. The Player pickups seem decent stock from what I've read. Of course having one in your hand is the real story...
  19. Did they close with How's About That Then?
  20. Ah, that kind of kneecap then. Not for me either if so.
  21. English Teacher is the only act that I've managed to watch live so far. Never heard of them but I too thought they were ace ๐Ÿ‘
  22. Jupiter - Gustav Holst
  23. The Big Bang Theory - Barenaked Ladies
  24. No this P is staying, but now I need another with Barts ๐Ÿ˜† Glad you're happy and it sounds lush from your description. "Dreamy" - love that!
