1. Hi folks Looking at trading my lovely Peavey Grind 6 BXP for something P-Bass (CV/VM/MIM?) My bass is in great condition and is very well set up so plays like a dream. Will upload pics tonight but just putting my feelers out. I don;t have box so meet up (Kent/London) will be preferable. Value I put on the bass is about £250. Spec wise Weight is 4.75 kg. - 35 inch scale - 24 frets - 6-string - Passive humbucking pickups - Mahogany neck with maple stringers - Neck-through-body design - Case not included - Mahogany body wings - Dual action torsion rod Cheers Graeme
2. I had the identical model - was a great bit of kit - only sold to get Korean Corvette which i equally love. Great bass mate, congrats
3. What a great guy and player
4. what is it with you and truss rods??
5. gigged one for a while - and the loud and heavey comment is spot on. 100% reliable though - a great cheap purchase
6. My recently sold OLP was a cracker, cost me 69 quid on Ebay
7.
You won't get much for them, they are wonky.
8.
It's odd - a couple of the Denmark St shops seem to have had a refit and there are a few new ones - and one with quite a few basses (including lots of Nash's). Can't remember the name - but pretty basses.
It's called Westside i think - does a great range of Schecter basses.
9.
have lots of fun with chords & extra harmonics and the other possibilities it opens up - and then remember not to use most of them on a gig unless it's appropriate !! :-)
...guilty at last nights gig of adding in low notes where they weren't really needed - i'm sure i'll sort myself out by the next gig! :-)
10. Thanks Faithless for the Joe Hubbard advice
11.
Dude it took me about a year to be brave enough to gig my 6 for the first time, sounds like you're doing well! I'm actually more at home on a 6 string these days but still love playing the old 4 banger as much as I can
Thanks dude - i did take a 4 with me as well....just in case :-)
Strangely enough because I too went from 4 to 6... I am absolutely hopeless on a 5 string! What's with that ?
Me too - i don't get on with 5's - may give it another go at some point
12. well, i gigged the 6 for the first time last night - apart from me over using the newly available lower notes a bit, it was great and i feel right at home using it - just need a comfortable strap now...it's a wee bit heavier than my other basses

Strings

hateful things, never use them. :-) Actually i use a mixture - Trace Elliots for the headless, Warwicks for headed and the 6 'er
14. stunning bass dude
15. i like pictures 1 and 2
16. wow - i like the singlecuts
17.
I'm not so keen on going for something like the GWB35
It was only a suggestion
18.
If you buy the Vintage, (as you say its not exactly what you want), you'll always be thinking of the Squier. Keep saving.
What he said!
19. for 4 string - 35-95 Rotos/Warwick Reds (and Trace Elliots on the Headless) for the 6'er, currently has a set of Elixirs on, probably put a set of Warwick Reds on next
20. I had one of the Jazz basses, only thing that let it down were terrible squeely microphonic pickups. Other than that it was a nice bass. Go for it!
21. my guess is a Yamaha?
22. And just for reference, there's a brand new one on eBay for £689.
23. Doesn't look as nice as the 5
