1. Anyone mentioned Ryan Martinie?
2. I'll stick to my old 150 watt Laney Head.....which is probably only 120 watts?
3. That was quick - enjoy the new one dude
4.
but no spare £'s
Check down the back of the sofa :-)
5. No love for the Attitude? :-)
6. good playing but someone buy that man a new set of strings.
7. just don't fall for the 'i'll pay you a percentage of cd sales' trick. Been there, fallen for that.
8. Have used one in a rehearsal space - sounded ok, no real frills, but sounded loud and punchy. Eagerly awaiting your review.... :-)
9. These days - it would be £500 max - i've sold on any expensive basses i've had (Status.Jaydee) as i've been too scared to take them to some of the more 'rough and ready' gig venues i have/stilldo play at. incidently - just bought a Warwick Corvette for less than the above...mmm...bubinga.... Cheers Graeme
10. this will always be an interesting question - and you'll get people who have their own preferences. Personally, I prefer passive, as with active, I find myself endlessly tweaking on the bass, and in some cases, have got rid of basses due to there being too many controls and not being able to get a decent sound out of them. Even with the one active bass i have (Warwick RBG Corvette) i leave it on one setting all the time. Like i said, peiople like what they like, neither is better (IMHO) Graeme
11. My Yamaha is currently in the For Sale section as a feeler (GAS got me again!)- anyone interested, let me know Thanks Graeme
12. This is lush too - they have some great looking kit on there http://willowsguitar.com/shop/goods/goods_...mp;category=007
13. How Much???? sorry...someone had to.
14. Cheers Karl - good reminder - mine is also signed by Billy on the back of the headstock.
15. echoeing the advice already, try loads of basses out, even ones you wouldn't have initailly thought about. Happy shopping!
16. Hi folks Just a feeler at this stage - I've just bagged a nice Warwick for a nice price, and as much as i love the Attitude, it doesn't suit the two bands i'm currently playing with, so i may part with it to someone who'll actually use and enjoy it. It's in cracking condition - all original and correct (apart from some normal strap buttons which i added as when i bought it it had nasty strap lock things on it.) A reminder that this bass is not one of the very cheap Attitudes that came out, and has all the look and feel of the full on Billy model without the Scallops/Dual output and Hipshot (none of which i would never use anyway) Plays great as i recently had it set up with 40-100 Roto's. The bass has the odd mark on it, representative of a bass that is 15/16 years old, but i consider the overall condition as excellent. I'll put some better pics up if anyone is interested? Sound wise it's awesome - a great rock and blues bass, with the woofer very handy for double bass impressions!. Would comes with a used Gator case Let me know if there's any interest - I'd be looking at around the £325 mark - try me! Would be collection only or i'd drive to meet the buyer within a reasonable distance (i'm in Bromley, Kent BR1) Thanks Graeme
17. Hi, great looking bass. What sort of sounds does it produce? What's the basic tone like? Thanks, Graeme
18.
A real shame that the shop got trashed & looted - Lee Pomeroy (Take That's Bass player) used to work there.
As did Rick Wakeman's guitarist Dave Colquhoun. Such a shame - hope RockBottom can get back on it's feet
19. Owner (Carl) is a super guy - have purchased many an iten in RB and used their rehearsal space countless times too. Thoughts out to Carl and the team.
20. post the link on MySpace - that way nobody will see it ;-)
21. It didn't last long...
22.
Interesting observation - and who, do you think, done THIS before? Just curious. Laimis
Hi More a general comment really - It's like slapping chop videos that people post - no doubt there's some talented people out there and most if not all the videos are impressive, but as i've matured as a player, i've moved more towards the less is more approach and concentrating on the feel of the tune and the phrasing (yes i KNOW it's a cliche) Just IMHO of course - not taking anything away from anyone's clips at all. As for this thread - John Pattitucci/Wooten/Jeff Berlin springs to mind to name a few. Love the diversity of Bass these days - just have my own tastes.
23. Impressive i guess - not my bag, but impressive phrasing. My issue is that it's all been done before...
24. I had the very same thing doen to my Roadie 1A when i owned it - it did add so much more variety to the bass. It still didn't give me what i was looking for though and sold it on, but i do miss it. agree about John's work, he's a true craftsman!
25. They are great pics dude.
