1. have done 30+ gigs with mine - great considering it's never let me down, sounds half decent in the mix (although lacks a bit of bottom) and cost me 67 quid (inc case) on EvilBay. Agreed they are not a patch on a real stingray/sub, but good value at the right price.

4. I believe this was sold to Marvin
5. ooo...good thread :-) Currently/Old fav's loving Billy Sheehan/Guthrie Govan - Stratus (Check it out on Youtube) Level 42 live at Wembley 1986 Steve Vai at the Astoria 2001 (?) Jeff Beck at Ronnie Scotts (2008?)
6. If the song calls for a pick, i'll use one, but love the different dynamics i can get from using my fingers. Cheers Graeme
7. Did Dood and Dave call each other to match outfits? :-)
So the rockbass ones are really not that good, and I am much better off looking for a used one. Say I liked the sound and feel of the corvette, what kind of models offer similar chracteristics?
WRONG...for the money, they are fab.
10. My OLP MM sounds far better than my Jaydee ever did in a band situation - much to my horror. The Jaydee was sold shortly after. MIss the bass, but not the sound. I later replaced my Status KingBass with a £200 Warwick RockBass - again - in a band situation, it fitted much better. IMHO of course Graeme
11.
please educate me.. these basses look like an overwater and a warwick.
Ask your mate Google.......
12.
Nothing but a Stingray sounds and plays like a Stingray, simple as that.
That man speaketh the truth!
13. Both look great, good job!
14. Hope the time flies by for you mate, reminds me of waiting for my Jaydee to be built.....tick...tock...tick...tock
15.
I'm looking for an ATT2 as well. Not fussed about the colour!
Let's hope 2 come up at the same time! :-)
16. Actually, looking at the Yam UK site the AttII still appears http://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical-i...=product_lineup
17. Nope - think it's all the ATT3 now....not currently an option at nearly £2500! I'll keep my eyes peeled...let me know if you see any around.
18. Did find one, but it was in Italy.....think i'll wait for one in the UK...i'm sure one of you guys will get bored with yours soon :-) Happy Bassing all Graeme
19. Have only had a chance to noodle at home on mine, but am loving the whole feel of the bass. Just now waiting for an Att2 to come up used....cash is waiting if anyone is tempted? :-) I look forward to using it 'in anger' at a couple of gigs next month. Cheers all Graeme
20. Are you the lucky buyer? http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f182/fs-yama...ike-new-768385/
21. everything in moderation
22. A great technique to have. I'm doing the reverse and moving away from (sometimes unnecessary) slapping. It is needed for some tunes in my sets, but i'm feeling like it's 'expected' and overdone (sometimes). It is interesting when you hear folk talk, that a player who can slap is often percieved a 'better' (read Flashy) bass player than one who doesn't - which as we all know, is not the case. I've had many hours of fun slapping - but am trying to avoid it where possible. This is all IMHO of course. Peace Graeme
23. Nice - i like both colours - Have they made them specially heavy too?
24. I guess the proof is in the playing....
25. Tough one. I think try and honour the gigs - i reckon a band meeting is in order. Pick easy tunes to cover the gigs - get everyones contribution etc Good luck, hope you sort it. Graeme
