1. Build quality on the couple i have played have been great, but never got on with the pickup positioning and (for me) was not a slapping friendly bass Great sounds though Cheers Graeme
2. Hi all, Anyone know which Hipshot d_tuner/Xtender will fit on a Classic Vibe 60's P Bass? Thanks Graeme
3. yamaha attitude for me please, sea foam green or Candy Apple Red
4. Personally I've not had good experiences with Peavey basses and have never played one that has felt inspiring or special....but ,maybe yours may be the chosen one!! If you like it and it feels right...get it!! Good luck Graeme
5. Hi Matt. My only advise would be try as many basses as you can before purchasing, as this may save disappointment down the line. I don,t have one myself, but Lakland basses are an excellent purchase. Good luck with your Bass Quest! Graeme
6. anyone got, or played one? Have taken a shine to one on Evilbay!
7. have you warned the neighbours? Have a nice evening, guessing the wife has gone out??? Enjoy.
8. I see Gaga's bassist was wielding a Big Al as usual..
9. Anybody know what model this is?? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/yamaha-custom-attitu...=item3a5bf25a42 Would love to know more about it - anyone know? 10.
The CVJ is a 60's Jazz clone, so the rear pickup is closer to the mid pickup. The necks are glossed & the bridge is a high mass affair (a blockier version of the new Fender bridge.) They're also made in a new Chinese factory where the quality control seems to be second to none, whereas the VMJ's are made in the Korean Cort factory. All in all they're really nice & at that price, if you want to put in some really serious pickups, it's one of those basses that's definitely worth it. These are going to be a future classic.
+1 - i have nothing but praise for the CV basses
11. so it is just me then...ho hum.
12. ..that loves when a known player has a new, or changes their signature bass? In my L42 days, i loved when MK appeared with a new Jaydee/Status (imagine my excitement when he moved to Fender ..although the bass was a bit pants). Currently GAS'ing for a Yammie Attitude and a Pino Custom Shop. I just love players signature models...any one else like me? (please?) Graeme
13.
Don't say that! I've had a few lagers from northern italy already!
GO ON...DO IT NOW..... :-)
14.
I'm massively GASing for that one in your avatar at the minute. I very nearly ordered one last night whilst drunk but resisted.
Great bit of kit dude - got my normal amp back today and immediately dialled in some great sounds. Have another beer and order one! Cheers Graeme
15.
If you read the text, you'll find out that the "MARK KING" is only on Mark's personal basses. Production models will have two red star LED's at the 12th. As for "bling", you can switch LED's off, you know
Text was fully read and understood. Still not to my taste...and that Mark King led IS hideous, whoever the bass belongs to!. LED's are an expensive option to switch off...! Not status bashing at all, i'm a fan, but this one is not to my taste Peace and Love Graeme
16. Too much on one bass for me (i loved my own Kingbass) - great for a one off, but not as a production bass...and that Mark King LED is hideous.
17. what a great looking bass, Congrats on your purchase dude.
18.
Me too. Pretty bomb proof, if a tad on the heavy side.
ain't that the truth!
19. I have the blue 60's CV P Bass and love it. I've gigged it with a couple of my bands and it sounds just right. There is something about a PBass that sits so well in the mix. I don't think i could go back to the hassle of lots of knobs and buttons etc Cheers Graeme
20. I would. I had a 62 reissue shell pink strat - used to get loads of admiring comments. Cheers Graeme
21. I had a red one and loved it. I remember being in Holland in the mid 80's and seeing about 5 or 6 black/white ones on stands in a music shop - looked cool as anything! Graeme
