  1. I have a loader with 6 slots, each with a different IR in it. You can blend as many as you like or audition different ones very quickly in the context of the mix. Options, you can never have too many lol 🤯🤯
  2. Was listening to Courtesans earlier. Saw them live last year and they are superb.
  3. I’ve been using Award Session for years. Never had a cable crap out on me. I’ve had 2 of them for about 8 years and another 2 I bought about 5 years ago: excellent stuff.
  4. Nice channel, subbed
  5. When my old band split up a few years back, the singer and I decided we weren’t ready to ditch our material so we started going out with me on acoustic guitar and him still singing. Our material was fairly politically charged anti establishment type stuff, with a lot of it relating to but not taking any sides in our country’s (Northern Ireland) violent past. We’d played a couple of gigs that we weren’t sure about but the least appropriate was when we were asked to play in the Officers’ Mess in Palace Barracks. We thought it a bit odd but were assured that they’d love us and that we didn’t need to change anything in our set. Boy was that bad advice! We’d just finished playing a particularly charged tune called The Vacuum and had about another 5 tunes to go when we were abruptly told that we’d run out of time! Couldn’t wait to get out of the place! Still got paid though, which was nice.
  6. I’m a bass player. If my band is making a recording you’re damn right I’m playing on it. How can I get any pleasure from the finished product otherwise? A wee bit of minor copy / paste is ok in my book for the sake of expedience but it will be me playing nevertheless.
  7. I bought a Concorde used in 1982 I think. Brilliant bass. That thing has been through hell, including a cracked headstock and me setting it on fire. Still play it, still love it.
  8. EBay. Cheap as chips.
  9. My own damn breathing cos I can't bloody well sleep. Again.
  10. PIL. A truly memorable night.
  11. Is tennis grip tape the best way to combat neck dive / strap slippage?
  12. He was and is one of my 2 favourite bass players, the other being JJ Burnell. I don’t care if he didn’t have all the technical wizardry prized by some these days: the man is a dude.
  13. Iron Maiden! They were absolutely outstanding, ably supported by Killswitch Engage. A fantastic night.
  14. Chron Gen - Chronic Generation. Bit of nostalgia!
  15. Update: I raised a PayPal dispute and suddenly, still with no communication of any kind, my order arrived today. Obviously the dispute was the impetus needed to get them shifted. I doubt I'll use them again though. Shame.
  16. Bugger. Placed a £20 order with them 3 weeks ago and I’ve seen / heard nothing. I’ve emailed them and tried phoning , to no avail. Did not know they had gone so downhill. Think I’ll have to raise a PayPal dispute.
  17. Gary Numan in Belfast last night. Absolutely brilliant. Support by Nightmare Air who I’d not previously heard but who were excellent. Black Label Society next...
  18. The production isn’t great but the music is blisteringly intense. Another favourite is Paul Simonon.
  19. Whatever fires your engines dude but personally I’m not a fan. I’m sure it sounds and feels beautiful though.
  20. I’ve an iPad Air and an irig knock-off. Use AmpliTube into GarageBand and it’s fine for practice and for jotting ideas down. Quality isn’t great but that really doesn’t matter for what I use it.
  21. Ali McMordie of SLF is another great from back then - check out Gotta Get Away. One of the earliest lines I learned though was Warhead.
  22. Quite. Some of those really expensive ones are the worst offenders.
  23. Agreed. So many ugly headstock designs. Ones I like are Schecter, Spector, Ibanez. Dislike big blocky things, pointy things and overly elaborate things.
  24. Have a look at the Dr J series of bass pedals from Joyo. I got the Sparrow DI and think it's excellent. Nice gritty overdrive with the added advantage of a DI pedal. No loss of low end. http://www.joyoaudio.co.uk/DR.J-Guitar-Effect-Pedals If you want fuzz or really heavy distortion, try the Little Bear which is a Woolly Mammoth clone. Fantastic, built like a tank and cheap as chips. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Little-bear-BS1-Wool-pinch-Bass-fuzz-guitar-pedal-Stomp-Box-effects/401469585187?hash=item5d7973b723:g:94oAAOxyrrpTffxM
