1. Now that's nice - fortunately for me it's a 1978 and not 1977 otherwise I'd be furiously trying to sell stuff now.
2. and its not active You're not having a good day are you
3. eer that's a Jazz Bass Special
4. I'd trade for a set of Roto Swing 66 for my incoming bass..they are £16.99 on strings direct
5. There's a little Banksy in the pic too if anyone is eagle eyed
6. lol it's a very dirty an in the middle of a clean biorb life 30 I think. I looks cool when it's clean (not often!)
7. For sale a set of Lakland flats bought about 4 months ago but hardly used due to them being on my backup bass. They are the medium's but came with purple silks so think they might be GHS? Cheange as I've decided that having Fender Flats on all my basses means I only have to keep 1 spare set of strings incase of breakages.
8. And with it's friends...
9.
Pictures?
Microscopes out! I'll get some better pictures tonight.
10. I'm thinking about selling my Pino alike Squier Classic Vibe P Bass. I bought it as a back up to my Road Worn Jazz to see if I could get on with a P sized neck before splashing out on a Fender P. Alas the Jazz always felt more comfortable. It's in great condition, I'm looking over it now and can't see any dings or scuffs at all. I has on a set of Elites IIRC. Had it properly set up only a few moths ago so it does play very well. No case included but I do have a functional hard case thatI could post it in for a bit extra. Trades wise....Fender AVRI Jazz, Road Worn Jazz (another I hear my wife say!) Nash, Limelight
11.
The 74's vs 75's also seem nicer to me and QC on these definitely seems a lot better. There are some very nice '75's out there but there are also some real dogs which nasty neck pockets and all sorts of truss rod issues
Re-issuing the originals a bit too faithfully ?
12. Update! Arrived yesterday and it's a sticker so will sit straight on top of the damaged original.
13. phew! Thanks for clearing that up, could have got messy
14.
Tampon it down
15. bit extreme, I could just jigsaw a round sound hole in the upper half and slap it on top of the original with a bit of prit stic
16. I bought a 1992 Gibson ES335 Dot Reissue in around 1997. When I bought it had replacement PUPs and somehow the label in the F hold had been damaged. I never minded as I played the thing and didn't spend a lot of time peering into the F hole. I then took up bass and didn't play the 335 for about 5 or 6 years. After a bit of TLC and set up at the luthiers a could of weeks ago I fell in love with the guitar again so had a google for a replacement label. Lots of stories on the tinterweb about Gibson not replacing labels for obvious reasons. I dropped a quick email to Gibson just to see what the score was with pics of the guitar and issue and I got a lovely email back saying they were sending me a replacement label FOC!!! Now...how the **** do I get the old one out and the new one in ??
17. I played the P version and it was fantastic. Claptons bass player used the 64 in LPB when I saw him live so must be pretty good! If anyone has a s/h 62 or 64 avri they want rid of let me know
18.
I thought flats were supposed to last a lot of years per set! How long did yours last?
One lost the silk after a swap to a different bass so would no longer stay stable. The replacement set is almost new but I dust don't enjoy the feel, almost set's my teeth on edge for some reason, They are coming off and going on Sales Corner this week!
19. bought the 50-100 and the 45-100 45-100 haven't turned up so looks like the 50's win for my gig this weekend.
20. Mono for me. The short is long though
21. No worries Looks like 62 AVRI's don't have matching h/s anyway. So I'm down to 64 AVRI or Nash/Limelight
22. Going to go for s/h as they don't make the 62 AVRI anymore. I was thinking of maybe Limelight or Nash instead but I've not heard of peterbuilt.
23. I know the 64 comes in a very sexy LPB with matching h/s but what could you get the 62 in. My next bass is going to be a stack knob in custom colour with matching head but can it be a AVRI ?
24. .73 tortex like my man Duff
25. Having used a couple of sets of Lakland flats I much prefer the feel and tone of Fender strings. Unfortunately while I've been away Fender seem to have stopped making 45-105 gauge. I now need to choose 50-105 or 45-100 ? Whice will I notice least ? Alternatively, who makes Fenders strings? Maybe they still do the 45-105.
