1. I would probably not pay £20 to sell on Basschat unless it was a particularly expensive item. Even then I'd try Gumtree first. The fee structure seems geared towards those with incurable GAS who sell often, rather than those of us who sell maybe once or twice a year if that. I'm also a mountain biker; Singletrackworld is a very popular forum/news site with a vibrant, free For-Sale section. They have a product to sell (a magazine) but also use much more on-site advertising than Basschat. The clever bit? If you pay to subscribe the ads go away (if you want).
2. We're at the Tynedale Beer Festival this Saturday (15th June), on stage around 5.45pm. Hot funk covers: Larry Graham, Chic, Rufus, Stevie Wonder, Jamiroquai, James Taylor Quartet, The Meters, Bill Withers etc etc.
3. Any cheaper than this and I'll be keeping it for firewood.
4. Sounds like the same one!
5. Bump for tomorrow's Cluny gig. On at 9pm for a 45min set including Larry Graham, Chic, Rufus and other good stuff with our new singer Wendy Saint.
6. These are excellent cabs! Really deep and hi-fi.
7.
I do like a challenge. (anyone wanting a five pickup bass with all bells and whistles can F...R....O.. ).
Only five pickups? Nah...
8. Bump for an amazingly capable rig at a knock down price. New cab has arrived so this is £250 to clear!! Could deliver in Newcastle area. Seriously, this is a bargain.
9. New cab incoming - this has to go. £275 ono. Some more info here: http://web.archive.org/web/20070205131641/http://www.adadepot.com/adagear/subgear/speakers.htm

12.
when did you order?
20th November.
13. Just don't get your hopes up for end of May is all I'd say (speaking from experience and still waiting...).
14. A 'hoping my new rig will turn up any day'...bump!
15. Shouldn't it have a signature on the headstock? Plus the string tree looks different to mine.
16. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Roscoe-Beck-Fender-Jazz-Bass-Made-in-Mexico-/170990105767 So someone had a Roscoe Beck and put some active EMGs in it. Except that's not a Roscoe Beck headstock. Or bridge. Not sure where the 'Made in Mexico' comes from. Ew.
17. I have a TRB5 and TRB6, both Mk1 made in Japan. Great instruments.but slightly noisy preamps, though nothing to worry about in a live setting. Had a MkII TRB5 for a while but didn't get on with it, not sure if it was the 35" scale or just general tone/feel. The cutaway on the Mk1's that is supposedly there to help popping etc. I find a bit annoying, as the gap under the top strings is too big compared with my other basses. It's a fix for a problem that never existed imho. Yes, the jack sockets are notoriously unreliable - I think I've replaced them on all my 3 Yamahas at one point or another. I also wax-dipped the pick-ups on the TRB5 as I found them a bit on the microphonic side.
18. Stereo power amp section - why??
19. Hi Dodge, I did just that for years in Spangler - I really don't know why it hasn't caught on more! I use either a JBL Eon 15" PA cab, or a SWR Bass Monitor 12 (http://www.swramps.com/en-GB/support/vintage.php/) powered by my Mark Bass SA450. The low end isn't huge, but then I find that helps with pitching - leave that to the PA. Played with the house amp at Hoochie the other week and remembered why I did it!
20. Bump and final price drop - £280.
21. I occasionally use a passive JBL Eon 15" cab as a bass monitor with a Mark Bass head DI'd into the PA. Works pretty well!
22. Bump... A really capable rig for the price of one half-decent cab!
