  1. Where are you?
  2. Ok thanks, I'll look into it, although it looks like a mounted version?
  3. Hi there, can anyone identify the bag in this picture? I want a bag for my Hartke HA3500. I don't want one where I have to mount it, I just want a bag where I can take the amp out. Also, I assume I need a 2U, not sure? Your advice or suggestions would be welcome. Cheers.
  4. Shame not near me as I want the black one to go with my white one. Mine sounds better than my 70s Fender.
  5. I've got two BC210s. I think they work extremely well for what they are the tone is excellent. A mostly use a single cab for small venues with plenty of headroom, and two together for outdoor.
  6. Thanks Wilco.
  7. Thanks for the info.

  9. It was a lug on the jack socket touching the foil, I had a good output but no tone. I turned the output socket and all fine.
  10. Basschaters to the rescue! It was indeed one of the lugs on the jack was touching the foil, I must have turned the jack from its former position. All fixed. Happy days. Cheers for the suggestions.
  11. That is a really good suggestion, I'll get back on it tonight and report back.
  12. Hi, I decided to shield an old P&J passive bass, it's a lovely bass, but had an intermittent pickup hum and 'static' sounds when not touching the strings. All went well, I copper taped the cavities and made sure the overlap touched the foil on the back of the pickguard. Put it back together, the bass sounded great, crystal clear tone, no hum or weird sounds any more. BUT...the tone had stopped working...aagh. Btw, the wiring is exactly like this: http://s62.photobucket.com/user/Alex_SSS/media/pj-jbass.jpg.html but without the extra ground wires that chain to the bridge and neck pots. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  13. Is there a reason to use paint? I used tape and it was cheap and relatively easy to apply. Worked a treat.
  14. Ok thanks, I was hoping I could DI Out to the H2n, which can act as an interface. I'm not finding a lot of info about the H2n's capability as an interface?
  15. Hi, I recently bought a Zoom H2n. I've got a small practice amp (Laney RB2) that has a DI out jack. Can I connect the amp to the zoom and record directly into it, bypassing its mics? If so, would this go into the Zoom's stereo 3.5? Meaning I would need a 6.3 mono to stereo 3.5? Just working this out before I order a cable. Thanks all.
  16. PM you
  17. Hi, have you still got this?
  18. UPDATE: The pots came today. I did the sheilding yesterday to both pickup cavities and electronics and ground wires into the electronics. I got everything soldered and back together about an hour ago......and..... silence is golden. It now sounds superb, no hiss, hum or audible irritations. Well happy. Cheers all.
  19. Thanks for your comments, I thought I could slip in some new pickups without problems, but have now decided to go the whole works and do full shielding and new electronics. I will report back, fingers crossed.
  20. Yeah, that's a good shout and what I've seen in diagrams, thanks. Funny how the old pickups were fine without that?
  21. Hi, I've installed a new set of Wilkinson Alnico pickups into an old japanese 70s jazz bass. I've matched how the old ones were wired, but it's not a schematic I've seen on the web and now I've got a faint hum/hiss a bit like static. When I touch any metal part of the bass it goes. The ground to the bridge is fine and connects to the jack. As you will see, with the old pickups both pickup grounds (black) were soldered to the back of the bridge pot, so I just did the same. Any advice appreciated. Cheers Martin
