  2. Hi there guys, i'm not sure if i really want to let this go...... but i thought i'd put it out there to see if anyones interested. Its only a couple of years old and is in showroom condition. Its 33" scale neck with ebony fingerboard, aero pickups with pope preamp, olive top with walnut body, its also got mandolin fret wire just like garrisons. I'm the second owner and am only thinking of selling her as i'm now being endorsed by overwater basses so its 'a lot of bass' sitting in the corner of my room not being used! I can't put into words how amazing this bass sounds and feels.... you can get the lowest action on this bass! I'm looking for £4000. The pics i've used were originally taken by the guy i bought the bass from...... i'm a terrible photographer so i thought i'd use his!
  3. Hi guys, this bass was listed with some of my other basses so to save on confusion i've decided to give the bass its own thread. Overwater 4 string progress....£745 6 year old overwater 4 string fretless neck-through. Dark indian rosewood fingerboard. 34" scale Alder body with a purple heart top two overwater pickups. All active electronics (treb/mid/bass/pan pot/volume) The purple heart top gives it a real killer fretless tone! Great condition, only a couple of tiny dings.
  4. Hi guys, this bass was listed with some of my other basses so to save on confusion i've decided to give the bass its own thread. BENAVENTE.......£745!!! A true hand-made instrument from the U.S.A. 4 year oldish benavente single cut 4 string. It was specially made for one of the namm shows. Maple finger board. 34" scale. Mahogany body with a great looking spalted beech top. Two jazz pickups.(Dimarzio) All active electronics (treb/mid/bass/pan-pot/active-passive switch/volume)... john suhr pre-amp. Great condition.
  5. Yeah its a great bass. Its got real jazz bass like qualities to the sound because of the pickup configeration but also a modern edge as well because its got active electronics and is also neck through in its construction. As far as the 'single cut' effecting the sound....i've owned a couple of single cuts and they both seemed to be very even as far as the resonance of the bass was concerned. I wouldn't say they had a different tonality....as in i would be real impressed if i recorded with this bass and a listener could tell the difference. But they both had a certain amount of controlled resonance which made the fundamental of the note very clear. I expect its due to a larger proportion of the body being connected to the neck thus resonating slightly different to a average neck through or bolt on. Hope this answered your question. Any more, feel free to mail me. Take it easy. Scott.
