1. How about a couple of leather belts and use the buckle to adjust the length. Cut off the excess and cut a couple of strap button holes. Done it myself and it works a treat.
2. I used bass pedals to play bass when I switched to guitar, I had a twin neck at the time and this was before midi. A lot of faffing about but the results were good.
3. Tunecore for us. Gets you onto itunes and as many others as you want to pay for. You pay annually and again the price is dependant on the number of stores you have chosen. You get paid for streaming, but not a lot and more for sales of songs and you cash in when there's enough cash to make it worthwhile.
4. The OP probably just looks in the rack and there it is.
5.
I understand you can put together a nifty BFM cab, Tel...
"Tis true. I can't help myself either.
6.
New Bill Fitzmaurice 'Simplexx' Cabs I feel another cab build thread coming on...
You just can't help yourself can you.
7. Sorry, didn't realise it was a musicmaster. I remember them coming out. Cheap and nasty Fenders, only for those who just had to have a Fender at all costs but had no money. Leave well alone. They weren't any good then and they won't be any good now. More here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_Musicmaster_Bass
8. I'm not a great fan of short scale basses myself but if it was me, I'd get the genuine Fender Mustang. Having heard a few, they don't sound at all bad with the original pickup.
9. Indeed, you are correct.
10. DIY is the way to go.
11. I was hoping for a CAR as well but black was all that I could get at the time. The joys of being left handed.
12. I tried a set of DR red coated strings. Looked great on my red bass and sounded good too, unfortunately after a couple of gigs one broke. Back to Elites now.
13. Used but working well. Lovely sound as you’d expect from EMG and a PP3 will last over a year. £75 posted. Paypal or bank transfer is fine. Everything you need to know here, http://www.emgpickup...tive/pjset.html
14. Overwater by Tanglewood. Superb bass in black. P and J pickups. Immaculate condition. £175 posted. Paypal or bank transfer is fine. What Overwater say Here, http://overwaterbass...ewood/#lightbox[]/5/ What I say here, Nice!
15. You got a valve in there? If so, try another one and see if the noise goes away.
16. I've asked Santa for a pair of these for Christmas, http://www.philjonespuresound.com/products/?id=144. I'll let you all know what I think of them when they arrive.
17. In my experience, pubs and clubs very rarely, if ever, promote gigs. Half of them don't even bother putting up the posters we send. It would seem that they aren't bothered who turns up, if anyone.
18. This from 3.15, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3I0t5RSYWnw
19. This, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTfB8Q6DpZ0 became this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ulDc8R4uhA
20. Stevie Wonder actually wrote Superstition for Jeff Beck, it doesn't get more guitar than that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyyhm1D7zlI
21. Does this mean that Lemmy can now play in Gerry Marsden's band?
22. How would you classify this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQVTtpE9J7s Deep Purple became famous with Hush, originally written and recorded by Billy Joe Royal. Hendrix found fame and fortune on the back of Hey Joe, a traditional song originally written by no one really knows but recorded earlier by the Byrds and Love. The Animals also came into the public gaze with House Of The Rising Sun, also a traditional, no one knows who originally wrote it, American ballad. Cream were mostly a covers band. The list is endless of bands who many think are original but have been covering songs by others.
23. If you think they're good you should listen to Van Beukenstein. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbTSYncVsTc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuRAhSR1gHA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuRAhSR1gHA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsbUZ6FmqTM Loads more on youtube.
