  1. My first ever 'real' bass setup was a Wem ER40 and a Wem Starfinder 1x15 cab and the cab had one of them thar Celestions in it, if that helps. Many years later I had a Wem 2x15 which was the same size cab but with 2 of those Celestions in it. Probably doesn't help that much after all.
  2. But what 40 amps does it emulate?
  3. For some reason when I switch my amp on I play Black Dog, I don't know why. Then I'll play a Rainbow bass line the name of which totally escapes me but I'm sure that you'll all know it, it goes, dum dum dum dum etc., any suggestions?
  4. Never. very rarely share a stage with another band but when we have, I always use my gear, it's always better than other bass setups, IMO. Being left handed means lending my bass is a no, no as well. Our drummer uses a double kit so unless there is a double pedal around, he uses his own kit and the way he sets it up means most drummers can't play his anyway. If we were playing with another band and their gear broke, then I'd be the first one to offer help. but don't expect to use to use mine, it won't happen. Same with the P.A.
  5. Of course you wouldn't, someone else would have to make it first.
  6. Wow, selling a super DI upgrade that should have been in the amp in the first place. That's brilliant marketing.
  7. One of these http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/BEQ700.aspx or one of these http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/PB100.aspx should do the trick. Got one of each and clean boost is what you'll get and pretty cheap too.
  8. Waste of time, don't bother.
  9. The Beatles was a stupid name for a band, but not any more.
  10. Empty 4x10 and have a hinged back for leads, f/x etc.
  11. The greatest rock band in the world, The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again. Makes me more than smile. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUbGLVvfB7Y&playnext=1&list=PL649F7EB31BEADB75&feature=results_main
  12. The apology is on page 009 along with a couple of corrections.
  13. See Emily Play, Arnold Layne, Bike and Lucifer Sam, to name 4 great things about Sid.
  14. +1 for the TC.
  15. I'd have a look at Fanes.
  16. Checked it out and there's non in stock, in fact, they've only got one L/H bass in stock and that's the usual Squire Jazz.
  17. Granddaughter Amy aged 6 playing her guitar, she started on my bass but me being left handed and my bass being 34" scale proved too much for her so she has her very own 6 string. I'm sure that I don't have to point out that it's pink! Her brother Thomas, aged 1, decided that she needed some help. This was just before he fell over not having quite mastered the art of staying vertical for long periods of time yet.
  18. As far as solder goes, this will be perfect for you. http://www.rapidonline.com/Tools-Equipment/Rapid-Solder-Wire-60-40-22SWG-100g-Reel-85-0592
  19. You've never owned a Precision if you have to ask how the saddle screw came out.
  20. Forget the gun and use a 25w soldering iron and also forget lead free solder. Wait until the iron is hot. Clean the bit of the iron on a damp sponge. Tin the bit by melting a bit of solder on to it to allow the heat to flow. Put the tip onto the soldered joint and lift off the wires. If the wires are attached to the lugs with a mechanical joint, wrapped through the hole, then wiggle the wires as you pull them and they should pull out. Post crossed, but also what flyfisher said above.
  21. Nothing Taiwanese about Mywatts. Made by Max Webber in Germany, Hiwatt clones and very nice too. Not a lot of similarities in the back panels either other than being blue.
  22. This might help. http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?t=29845
  23. Another not me but...... Our drummer used record with Roger Daltrey in a previous band. Roger had built a home studio and was setting it up so they recorded a few songs so he could get the feel of the place. One day along comes Adam Faith who was managing a singer called Patches. They saw the band recording and were impresse with our drummer, I don't know why, and offered him the job of drummer in Patches' band. He of course turned it down. Shortly after this Patches changed his name to Leo Sayer. The rest is history.
  24. Live at Leeds - The Who Made in Japan - Deep Purple
  25. Flight cases are not a lot bigger than the cab that goes inside them and as they have wheels and decent handles, they're not that cumbersome. Can't argue your third point though unless you can get a used one.
