Hello, I'm just about to enter into the world of MIDI to control my Sanamp PSA 1 and PodXT Pro. From what I've read, it would be best to keep each device on a seperate MIDI channel and use a foot controller that can be programmed with both channel and programme changes. First question - is that right? I went to Physio with similar prob, told me it was golfers elbow (no, I don't play) - he rubbed it for 40 mins, strapped it and charged me £45. It was fine 3 days later. I can't believe I put up with the pain for so long.

I don't run my bass through PA, it's purely for vox, keys and acoustic instruments. My bass rig provides my output and out drummer provides his own unmiced volume. We don't play huge venues. Seems to work well at the moment, but this is likely to change soon.

We've just picked up a new desk, a Yamaha MG166CX. What's the best output for our monitors? We seem to have three options:[list] [*]Monitor out (a stereo pair) [*]Aux 1 and 2 out [*]4 group outs [/list] I used the group outs on a gig on Friday, but the guys complained there was no reverb on their vocals in their monitors, although it was fine FOH. So which set of outs should I be using? The aux's? Why then does the desk have monitor out too? Cheers Chris

I reckon you could tow a car with my DiMarzio cables. Apparently, they can survive a cymbal dropped on them like a guillotine! Pigs to coil though.

The rolls unit has a jack input for the instrument and then it outputs into stereo xlr's (with a jumper switch to set to mono output). Works a treat. Although I don't go into the desk, my rig provides bass output.

I played my first gig with IEM's last night. Total convert. It was odd for about 5 minutes, then my life changed! I could hear everything everyone else was playing and singing with clarity (except the drummer whom is not mic'd, but I remedied that by quickly throwing a spare mic under his kick and plugged it into my Rolls unit). I can honestly say I played my best gig ever - I was note perfect, well almost I could hear every detail of my playing, just like when practicing at home - it was an absolute bloody revelation We were at close quarters with a very noisy, up-for-it, dancing crowd, so for our last number (hands in the air, crowd singing, etc), I pulled my IEM's out of my ears, bloody hell it was loud! And I couldn't hear my bass. Straight back in. We normally use Yammy powered wedges (the rest of the guys still do), but trying in-ears really has made a helluva difference. For those interested, its a wired setup: Westone UM1's, a Rolls PM351, with a mix from desk, another line from my amp and a Shure SM58 thrown under the drum kit!

Made one of these last week. Got a blue wheels kit off eBay , with all the nuts an bolts, and bolted to a lump of thick ply. 30 minute job, worth every minute! Brilliant as my rig is rack mounted and it's easy to get to the back. Get 100mm wheels. Great for gigging too.

Apogee Jam is now compatible with Amplitube on the iPhone / iPad - the new functionality came with the latest update. Wahay!
